what one reads, what one sees, what one plays
Still talking about the game, it’s all accomplished this month.Astro Bot. And the free prequelAstro Bot’s PlayroomWhat’s different is that I see a lot of malice in this one. The challenge levels within each level are just plain nasty: they’re very low margin for error and require a high level of reflexes, so the only way to get through them is to “die – backboard – go to next stage – die”. Of course, the last challenge level is a masterpiece. Otherwise, I don’t think this game breaks any new ground compared to its predecessor. After playing this game, I haven’t turned on my PS5 much, but I’m still working on Harakami on my cell phone, and it took me 70 draws to finally raise Ninjutsu Hisagi’s Life Seat from 1 to 2. I’m now saving up 180 orbs in my hand, and I’m ready to wait for the God of Fire like I said before. I’ve been reading some of the Vulcan’s skill mechanics, but I’m still unsatisfied and wondering if I should draw a Zero Fate to keep me going, and then go for the Obsidian Grandmother, which I’m pretty happy with. I didn’t get the Ringed Mercury in 1999, and as a zero kryptonite, I’m not surprised. I’m currently working on improving Lucy’s resonance with Quinn, and saving up bunnies for Angel Nana.
In terms of movies and TV shows I’ve seen, I’ve probably only seen two serious ones, and one I watched on Netflix at the beginning of the month. The Dark Knight Rises, second viewing if I recall correctly, still not a big fan, just an average commercial movie. The other one was a Netflix movie that I got by chance. What a scandal! It’s not a very good movie, but it’s a good movie to watch. In addition, someone on Douban has writtenThis extra.真好.
Finally, the books I’ve read this month. First up is Jin Yong’s碧血剑. The hidden dual-protagonist setup is nice, but many of the twists and turns are still very stiff. The characters are a bit much for such a lengthy work, galloping down the string to make the protagonist can start and finish. But is it possible to spread a little smaller can also tell a good story, and the cost is lower? After reading this book, I remembered what my high school language teacher mentioned in class.I see Jinyong和I see Lu XunI think Wang Shuo has a point. Wang Shuo’s comments about Jin Yong are similar to my comments about most internet novels. So it looks like the chain of contempt is pretty well established on this scale. And then there’sA collection of Mo Yan’s weird and wonderful stories. This should be my third Mo Yan book, still not so fond of his style, too much rusticity, feel like looking up there is a pile of cow dung blocking the doorway. For me as a science student, the logic of Mo Yan’s storytelling itself is intentionally not very clear, strange stories are strung together by strange logic, but also on my reading patience put forward a huge challenge. Characterization is also very problematic, very much like a ghost floating through the theater, at first glance brilliant, but can not withstand scrutiny, and does not have much basis in life. And then there is a bookChiang Hsun Reading Tang PoetryThe level of this book varies from chapter to chapter, and there are a few authors whose works have been written from the heart, such as Zhang Ruoxu, Li Bai, and Bai Juyi, but the rest of the authors are not as interesting as they could have been. The last book is a big one in the library. The Making of AvatarIt’s about James Cameron’s Avatar movie. After reading this book, I’d love to read a biography of him, because Jim in this book is so great at making visionary decisions about everything, and it reminds me of Steve Jobs.
Toolchain Updates
There have been a few updates to the usual toolchain, starting with the input method on Apple, which has been changed from the default to MouseWhisker. Not because of configurability, but simply because of speed. But after all these years, Mousewhisker’s configurations are still as two-bit as ever, and I always thought it would be nice to have some kind of Rime For humans toolkit that translates a high-level configuration into a rime-needed one, and then automatically deploys it.
A couple of other updates are in neovim. The first is to use theblink.cmpReplaced.nvim-cmp. This solves two of my complaints about cmp, one is that the configuration file is too cumbersome, and the other is that the speed of completions is just too much for the eye to see. The next step is to useconformReplaced the one I had been using beforeformatterThe advantage is that it is easier to configure. Finally, it’s time to get started withavante.
There was also a less successful attempt to useZed. One of the main problems found is that branching is a bit slow with monorepo. That’s fine, but when using remote development mode, branching fails. After a quick check, it seems that our monorepo uses some kind oflibgit2It’s a feature that isn’t recognized yet. I had problems with my own ps1 before, and I still have problems with zed. I haven’t cut from neovim to zed since then, I’ll wait until it’s more mature.
