Since it was put into production at full capacity in November last year, the Aixu solar cell intelligent production workshop with 140 Megvii SLAM navigation AMRs has been running stably for nearly a year. This project is the largest domestic SLAM robot landing case currently known in the photovoltaic field.
In this high-efficiency solar cell production base located in Yiwu, Zhejiang, Aixu took the lead in deploying a complete set of automated production machines and material handling intelligent robots, realizing texturing, diffusion, laser, and etching from material delivery to off-line, as well as during production. The full-process automation and intelligent operation of 8 processes such as annealing, annealing, etc. have greatly improved the operation efficiency of solar cell manufacturing, and created a benchmark case of “black light factory” for manufacturing upgrades in the photovoltaic industry.

Manufacturing upgrade to the “standard” of photovoltaic industry, “ace porter” entry workshop
The joint promotion of factors such as global energy reform and my country’s “dual carbon” policy has driven the vigorous development of new energy industries such as photovoltaics and lithium batteries, and has driven the upgrading of the entire industrial and commercial supply chain. New energy companies have automated and intelligently upgraded workshops and supporting warehouses. Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) guided by SLAM are thus accelerating their adoption in production logistics.
As the world’s leading manufacturer of high-efficiency single crystal PERC cells, Aixu has deployed automated and intelligent production and handling equipment before, and has achieved certain application results. However, with the continuous expansion of production product models and production capacity requirements, Aixu has continuously upgraded the crystalline silicon cell manufacturing technology and production supply capacity in the new factory, further updated and iterated the corresponding equipment and systems, and continuously optimized the operation efficiency.
In response to the high attention paid by new energy companies to operational efficiency and stability (which needs to support 24-hour continuous production in factories), the Megvii SLAM robot has realized map editing, high robustness of SLAM positioning algorithm, high precision to point and large-scale cluster scheduling, etc. Technological breakthrough and equipment process improvement. It is precisely because of its leading technical strength in the field of “AI + logistics” that Megvii SLAM Navigation AMR has won the favor of Aixu and has become the “ace porter” of the high-efficiency solar cell production workshop.

140 units! Ranked among the largest domestic SLAM robot cluster landing projects in the industry
In this project, Megvii customized 140 laser SLAM navigation AMRs for Aixu, including 132 flower basket handling AMRs and 8 stacked box handling AMRs, and realized large-scale cluster scheduling in limited space. Project highlights include:
1) 140 SLAM navigation AMRs operate simultaneously in crowded spaces, supporting a daily production capacity of more than 3 million pieces.
2) High precision docking. The one-time docking success rate exceeds 99.5%, and the equipment docking accuracy is ±3mm.
3) The scheme is flexible and ensures the stability of the operation. Even if multiple AMRs fail, the system can coordinate other AMRs to get on top in time.
4) Customized development of AMR models. According to many complex requirements in actual production, Megvii realizes customized development at the level of robot hardware to match the environment and needs of the production site. The performance of the Megvii SLAM robot is stable and solid, avoiding the problem of easy slippage due to water spraying on the workshop floor.
5) Based on the Megvii AI algorithm to achieve large-scale cluster scheduling. Through “unilateral bridge”, “hutong”, “laser navigation algorithm”, etc. to solve the problems of congestion and easy getting lost when SLAM navigation AMR runs between multiple equipments in the workshop;
6) Realize a series of high-level applications. In addition to docking accuracy, Megvii AMR can achieve navigation and positioning accuracy within ±10mm, rated load ≥300kg, rated load running speed of 0-1.2m/s, and support 7*24 hours of continuous operation.

Through the collaborative intelligent design of software and hardware, Megvii helps Aixu achieve production capacity improvement, with a daily production capacity of more than 3 million silicon wafers, helping it to manufacture monocrystalline bifacial PERC cells with higher conversion efficiency in a high-level purification environment. In addition, due to the higher stability, docking accuracy and scheduling strategy optimization of the Megvii AMR, the overall operation efficiency of the Aixu workshop has been greatly improved. The project ranks among the largest domestic SLAM robot cluster landing projects in the photovoltaic field, and has a significant benchmarking effect in the new energy industry.
