I couldn’t fall asleep, so I got up and typed on the blog, and then Ghost lost my history, so I typed it again.

I was really a little slack at work, a little distracted, and I felt like I didn’t get anything done for a week.

Changed a computer, M2 Max + 32G memory, should be enough for personal development for a long time. Recently, I am restarting some of my own projects to see if I can make some progress.

I installed a 35mm film scanner (plustek 8200i), scanned two sheets at 7200 dpi, and uploaded them to Unsplash. The whole process is quite ceremonial. Put the film in a row of six grid containers and fix it, like the ice cube grid in a refrigerator freezer, and then push it into the machine, and the computer screen starts to slowly move from top to bottom. Swiping it out to scan the content is like loading pictures on a dial-up Internet in 2000. After finally scanning a piece of tiff that generates a few hundred MB, it is necessary to manually push down a grid into the scanning area, as if using a typewriter to change the line and page.

A colleague asked me why I started shooting film. Is it because of the special imaging quality of the film itself, or because of various limitations (36 exposures per roll, fixed ISO/ASA, and a viewfinder that can’t see the focus)? creativity. I don’t have any good answers, it seems to be just nostalgia, and these point and shoots in the 8090s are small enough to be put in the pocket of clothes, and you can use them whenever you think of them, similar to the 1:64 car toys that children will bring when they go out.
