Fuzhou is the first stop of our trip to Fujian in 2023. It is a city with a long history and profound cultural heritage. At the same time, it is also a provincial capital city with almost no sense of existence. Xiamen’s popularity is much higher than that of Fuzhou, but the latter’s economic aggregate is not as good as Quanzhou. Compared with other provincial capital cities, tourism resources are slightly scarce, but there are also good places to visit: Three Lanes and Seven Alleys, Shangxiahang Historical Area, Yantai Mountain Historical Area, Mawei Shipbuilding Cultural Street, etc.

On July 3rd, we set off from Taizhou Station at noon, took the D3201 high-speed train, took nearly 3 and a half hours, arrived at Fuzhou South Railway Station, and took another half an hour to transfer to Metro Line 1, and arrived at the hotel we stayed at that day—— “Juchunyuan Fuzhou Hotel”, this hotel is only a few hundred meters away from the “Nanmendou” station of Metro Line 1, within walking distance, and there are many restaurants around, such as Laofuzhou (Doudong Branch) ). In addition, the hotel is close to Wuyi Square and the Wushan Historical and Scenic Area. It is only 2 stations away from the Three Lanes and Seven Alleys, or a 15-minute walk from the subway.

After checking into the hotel and taking a short rest, since almost everyone didn’t have lunch, they were eager to have dinner early, but there were differences when choosing a restaurant. Some people wanted to eat near the hotel, while others wanted to experience it in a place farther away. Special local dishes, as the leader of this treatment group, immediately has a sense of sight of a variety show, the team members are divided into two groups, can only choose one of the two? ! In the end, I was forced to choose a group to go to Yantai Mountain to eat + play in a difficult decision.

Fujian cuisine is one of the eight major cuisines in China. Fujian is located on the southeast coast and is rich in a variety of seafood, making Fujian people good at cooking seafood. In Fujian, there are undulating mountains, dense forests, and a warm climate. Therefore, mountain delicacies, vegetables, fruits, and game are also extremely rich. The complex and changeable terrain makes Fujian cuisine extremely diverse.

Generally speaking, Fuzhou cuisine is finely selected ingredients, rigorous cutting skills, refreshing and elegant, sweet and sour, salty, and delicious soup. A major feature is that it is good at using red grains as ingredients, which has the effect of preventing deterioration and removing fishy smell. In addition to general seasonings, Fujian cuisine also has shrimp oil (fish sauce), shrimp paste, sour apricot, etc.; it also has a more prominent “bad” taste, which can be divided into red glutinous rice, white glutinous rice, and glutinous rice. Sour, sweet, salty, and fragrant, the last dish in a banquet is usually seasonal vegetables, which means “clean vegetables”. Soup making has the reputation of “one soup with ten changes”. The most common cooking methods are slipping, steaming, frying, simmering, and stewing. Bad chicken, Fujian fruit, light bad conch slices, boiled sea mussels in chicken soup, etc.

We went to “Xingxian Restaurant·Minwei Seafood”. This local specialty restaurant in Fuzhou is recommended by many people. There are three stores in Fuzhou. The most recommended is the Mawei Main Store, because it is located in the aquatic product distribution center by the sea, but due to the distance For the distant relationship, we chose to dine at the Yantaishan restaurant. We entered the store around 5 o’clock to order food, and there were not many people. We ordered directly according to the dishes recommended by netizens, and basically did not step on the thunder: perilla and plum sauce shrimp, Huangqiti vegetable cake, pepper and salt water electric fish, traditional Nanjian liver, Fuzhou lychee meat , Puxian Braised Noodles, Hokkien Assortment, Pan-fried Sea Onions… Highly recommend Puxian Braised Noodles, the noodles are strong and the soup is fresh and sweet, even children who don’t like to eat eat a big bowl… 6 pieces Adults + 4 children are only 415 yuan in total. The dishes are full of food and the price is also good. I recommend everyone to go there!

Out of the hotel, decided to stroll around Yantai Mountain. Yantai Mountain is a block built on the mountain as a whole. The main attractions are the foreign consulates built by foreigners and some modern villas built by overseas Chinese when Fuzhou was forced to become one of the five treaty ports in the late Qing Dynasty. The ancient buildings mainly include Luyi Library (Queen Anne style), Cangshan Theater (formerly the Dutch Consulate), Lequn Building (colonial/coupon style), the former site of the American Consulate (No. 2 Patriotic Road, which combines Western classicism) , Baroque, colonial and other styles), Shicuo Church (Gothic Revival style), Fanchuanpu Church (Gothic style), Zhenlu (Victorian style), Siwan Building (Roman style), Old American Consulate (No. 84, Maiyuan Road, Neoclassical), Russian Consulate, former site of South China Women’s College of Arts and Sciences (Chinese and Western style), French Consulate (also the former residence of the great French writer “Paul Claudel”), HSBC, Meritorious Bank , the official residence of the Tax Department of Fujian Customs, etc., many buildings are hidden in the school or have been expropriated.

Due to the crowds, we strolled for a while, walked along the overpass to Cangqian Park, walked along the Minjiang River, all the way east, and came to the vicinity of Jiejie Bridge, where we can overlook Zhongzhou Island. During the Northern Song Dynasty, sandbars appeared on the Minjiang River due to sedimentation. The prefect of Fuzhou at that time built a pontoon bridge to connect the two banks of the Minjiang River, so it was called “Zhongzhou”. Twenty years ago, a large number of imitation European-style buildings were built on Zhongzhou Island, and a large number of wholesalers of small commodities, clothing, and curtains settled here, and then gradually fell into disuse. Recently, part of the building was demolished and remodeled.

On Zhongzhou Island at night, do you have the sense of sight of the “Grand Budapest Hotel” in Europe?

Along the Jiefang Bridge and across the Minjiang River, the wind on the bridge is very strong, and the wind blows on a summer night. It is really pleasant. We originally planned to go to Shangxiahang, but we felt a little tired because we took the wrong road nearby. In the end, we decided to go Back to hotel early to rest.

Another group of members went to Three Lanes and Seven Alleys after eating, and then bought tickets to participate in the “Night Tour of Minjiang” cruise. It was already 11 o’clock in the evening when they returned to the hotel.

Because my family had been to Sanfang Qixiang in 2018, and due to the tight schedule, I revisited this unexplained place. Some friends in the regiment have checked in as special forces.

Where we need to underline the key points in modern history textbooks, it almost has something to do with the people in this block! Lin Zexu, governor of Guangdong and Guangxi who sold cigarettes in Humen, Lin Juemin of the Huanghuagang uprising, Lin Xu, one of the six gentlemen of the Reform Movement of 1898, Lin Changmin of the May 4th Movement, Lin Huiyin, a master architect and poet, Bing Xin, a literary master, Shen Baozhen, shipping minister of the Westernization Movement, and Liang Zhangju, governor of Liangjiang Guo Baiyin, governor of Huguang, Yan Fu, president of Peking University who enlightened thought, Gan Guobao, general soldier of Taiwan, Chen Baochen, the last imperial teacher, Lin Shu, master translator, general Wu Shi, the prototype of the TV series “Latent”, and more than 100 famous historical celebrities. Their spirit is worthy of every Let the Chinese pass on their heritage and savor the place where they grew up.

The central axis of the Three Lanes and Seven Alleys is Nanhou Street, with Seven Alleys on the east side and Sanfang on the west side. The central axis is a very commercial street. You have to go into the alleys to get a sense of simplicity and tranquility. Not only do you have to go into the seven alleys, but you also have to get into those small alleys that have no names on the navigation. Recommended: Wenrufang (with Maritime Silk Road Exhibition Hall), Lin Zexu Memorial Hall, Zhuzifang (with Furong Garden, Shen Shaoan Lacquer Art Museum).

In the early morning of the next day, my mother and I decided to go to Osan Park near the hotel. Three mountains and two towers are the landmarks of Fuzhou. The five scenic spots are all within the ancient city wall of Fuzhou. Since the Tang Dynasty, Wushan Mountain has been a tourist attraction, and is loved by people for its unique mountains and rocks. Wushan not only has beautiful scenery, but also has cliff carvings all over the mountain. There are inscriptions by famous people of past dynasties such as Li Yangbing, Li Gang, Zhu Xi and Cheng Shimeng. Today, it has also become a holy place for morning exercises for Fuzhou citizens.

At the end of the trip to Osan, we returned to the hotel for breakfast, packed our luggage, and embarked on the trip to Pingtan.
