Attended a lecture about AI, Consciousness, Buddhism, Enlightenment.
I asked the teacher who gave the lecture, if you admire Zen and Taoism so much, are you enlightened?
He said no, I said I was enlightened.
Then the atmosphere was not right. He rummaged through his PPT, found out the words “like a worm and a tree” and showed it to me. He also told me that he wanted to read Zen books, Nan Huaijin’s “Zen Hai Li Jian”, and he said yes. I can’t read it, if I understand it, it’s just a wrong read…
Although I felt something was wrong, I kept my mouth shut and let him talk. Afterwards, I realized that the professor’s reaction was obviously the reaction when he met Minke. Now, who am I to talk to? I checked, he was there when I was a graduate student at Peking University, he should be a year later than me…
But, that’s right, I haven’t read the books he mentioned, and I can’t even count civil science on the topics he mentioned. However, it is not suitable for me to apply “like a worm to control a tree, and occasionally write a book”, because I have not even done the work of “rousing a tree” when I am enlightened. However, the professor knows so much about Zen, but he is not enlightened, so it can be seen that knowing more does not necessarily mean much.
However, since I haven’t really read the book he mentioned, I’ll do it. I read “Zen Ocean Ligai”, part of which is the history of Zen, Zen Koan, and part of which is comparing it with other sects of Buddhism, and comparison with other religions and philosophies. There are indeed parts of the koan that I can’t understand, but there is nothing difficult to understand in other parts.
By the way, I also read the history of Christianity, the history of Indian Buddhism, and the history of Taoism. Among the three major religions in the world, Islam is the only one that has not been read. Leave it blank and make it up later.
After reading the history of religion, I came to the conclusion that don’t be a follower of any organized religion, don’t be a follower of any guru, including Sadhguru and Tolle. no need. Krishnamurti’s book can be read more.
