I am 36 years old this year and feel the effect of age on my body.
I used to be able to run 12km once, but now my knees start to feel uncomfortable when it exceeds 5km. In the past, the pace could be controlled within 6 minutes, but now it can only be 6-8 minutes/km. If you force your body to run fast, your knees will definitely hurt the next day, even joint effusion.
Neither endurance nor speed will do.
Why am I running?
It doesn’t seem to be to participate in the marathon, but to have fun. For utilitarian reasons, running can improve sleep quality and maintain brain intelligence. But in essence, the body is called to run by a certain force, and it is uncomfortable not to run.
“I talked a lot today, I’m so tired, I want to be alone for a while, let’s go for a run”
“I’m thinking too much about things today, it’s going to become a mush, go for a run.”
People who run all year round do not rely on persistence and perseverance, but because of their nature, and they are not worthy of praise.
Now that you’re 36, let’s keep slowing down. When I lowered my pace to 8 min/km, the intensity and function started to work in harmony, even running every day without knee pain.
Just don’t bring your mobile phone, don’t punch cards in various software, and don’t record the total mileage you run. The government (or internet companies) also don’t want to profile me through data analysis.
It’s been ridiculously hot this summer, and wearing the best quick-drying clothes isn’t as cool as shirtless. Every time I run, I take off my T-shirt and wrap it around my hand as a towel, and then run shirtless. It’s not pretty, but it’s really cool. When you sweat, you can also take a T-shirt to wipe the sweat.
