63: The Most Important Thing

Hello friend!

I know that many of my friends are enjoying the 11th holiday. In this issue, I will not talk about the seven things, but the most important one.

You’ll find that a lot of the issues we’ve talked about —

  • How do you balance hobbies and work?
  • How can I find time to improve my diet and exercise?
  • How to learn and think better?
  • How to live more fun and loving?

It all boils down to: how to live every day.

Of course, this definition is too general, we need a more specific indicator. How many things get done in a day is obviously a poor indicator. I love what Scott Adams mentioned in How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big : Energy Levels. “I choose to do things that maximize my personal energy, because that makes it easier to do other important things,” he said.

The question is, how to better organize the activities of the day to maximize energy levels?

Mr. Money Mustache has a recent article comparing the lifestyle of most people with a more scientific lifestyle, mainly from the podcast of Stanford University professor Dr. Andrew Huberman. Well written, I translated it:

There is also a good sentence in the text.

“As I listened to more and more podcasts, I found that health-related boils down to a few things:

  • Exercise (especially outdoors plus weight lifting)
  • Nutrition
  • Mindfulness and meditative rest
  • sleep

These things affect the pipes and hormones in our bodies and brains, which in turn affect everything —from mood and energy, to body composition, to the immune system, and even the potential for chronic disease—including cancer.

It sounds obvious, but I think the key is to understand it from the deepest part of your soul: everything affects everything . If you want to live a better life, take care of every part of yourself and let your day support you to get better, not wear you down.

Of course, you don’t have to strive for perfection. But you need to know what is good for you, what is neutral, and what is bad. That way, this little scientist angel will fall on your shoulders and advise you on all the decisions you make. Doing positive choices makes it easier. And when you want to be naughty or decadent, you make conscious and interesting choices without overdoing it. “

Well, free time during the holidays provides a great opportunity for reflection. Hope it helps you!

See you next week,

Wei Chen
