GM driverless taxis jam traffic in San Francisco

Cruise, the driverless car company owned by GM, recently licensed a commercial service for fully driverless taxis, which are limited to operating hours between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. For some unknown reason, at least eight of Cruise’s driverless taxis, Chevrolet Bolts, were spotted blocking the intersection of Gough and Fulton streets in San Francisco for hours on Tuesday night, according to photos posted by netizens. Is it a robot uprising or some kind of glitch? These taxis are driverless, and eventually humans come and take them away. A Cruise spokesperson issued a statement saying that an issue caused the driverless taxis to crowd together, the issue has been resolved without affecting passengers, and it apologised for the inconvenience caused to humans. It does not give a more detailed explanation of the cause of the failure.
