“Huawei doesn’t know her, and she can’t understand Huawei.”
On July 6, Huawei’s statement was cut with Chen Chunhua, a professor at Peking University, which also attracted heated discussions.
In the past, Huawei’s external statements gave people the impression of being objective and rational, but this time it was obviously emotional, and what made Huawei “motivated” may be “more than 10,000 articles that exaggerate and interpret Professor Chen Chunhua’s interpretations and comments on Huawei” inside.
In these web articles and short videos, Chen Chunhua was called “Huawei’s behind-the-scenes military advisor” and “Huawei’s second brain”, and even said that “Ren Zhengfei hired Chen Chunhua as a consultant. He heard tears in his eyes, and recorded every sentence in detail in the book. As a treasure, according to Chen Chunhua’s suggestion, a series of drastic rectifications were carried out”, “After listening to Chen Chunhua’s 3-point suggestion, Ren Zhengfei put down his body and apologized to the resigned employees” and so on.
After Huawei’s statement, Chen Chunhua also issued a statement saying that the above content was not written by her and she had contacted a lawyer to defend her rights.
After the investigation of “Leopard Change”, it was found that these disgusting and exaggerated web articles were actually “adapted” from the article “With Mr. Ren Zhengfei: Japanese Dialogues Around the Fire” published by Chen Chunhua on her WeChat public account in 2017, but the original text expressed Chen Chunhua’s admiration for Ren Zhengfei was completely reversed after the adaptation, and it became Ren Zhengfei’s admiration for Chen Chunhua.
Who is the mastermind behind it? ? Who is consuming Huawei and Chen Chunhua?
Reverse black and white traffic cool text
In order to “clear” the relationship with a person, Huawei rarely issued a statement.
On July 6, Huawei posted on the Xinsheng community that there have been more than 10,000 articles on the Internet recently that exaggerated and deduced Professor Chen Chunhua’s interpretations and comments on Huawei, and repeatedly hyped it up, which is basically false information. We have received many inquiries, so Official statement: Huawei has nothing to do with Professor Chen Chunhua, Huawei does not know her, and it is impossible for her to know Huawei.
The articles mentioned by Huawei include “China’s richest man visits the cottage three times, Ren Zhengfei himself is the driver, why can Chen Chunhua be a guest of more than 50 companies? “, “Ren Zhengfei personally served as a driver to pick up and drop off, Huawei’s female military adviser Chen Chunhua’s rumors”, “Ren Zhengfei personally drove a female professor to pick up a female professor despite the opposition of executives, and said: This is my honor! “, “Ren Zhengfei is a driver for Chen Chunhua, Chen Chunhua: President Ren, your company will face huge losses”, etc.
Who is Chen Chunhua? Why can Huawei make such a “big fight”?
According to the official website of Peking University, Chen Chunhua is Wang Kuancheng Chair Professor of Peking University and Dean of BiMBA Business School of Peking University National Development Institute. Along with Chen Chunhua, there are well-known scholars such as Lin Yifu, Huang Yiping, Yi Gang and Yao Yang on the list of professors at the National School of Development of Peking University.
After Huawei’s statement, Chen Chunhua immediately stated that there have been more than 10,000 articles on the Internet that exaggerated and deduced her interpretation and comments on Huawei, which are basically false information. These articles were not written by her, and Huawei is only one of the academic research cases. Lawyers have been hired to pursue accountability for such violations.
After searching and combing Baidu and short video platforms, “Leopard Change” found that there are mainly two versions of content related to Huawei and Chen Chunhua.
First, Ren Zhengfei said that he often woke up in the middle of the night and broke out in a cold sweat. Thinking that the company would pay 500 million yuan in wages every month, he tossed and turned and couldn’t sleep. When the research and development has been fruitless, the depressed people want to jump off the building. After thinking about it later, fortunately, one thing was done right, that is to ask Chen Chunhua, a female professor of Peking University, to give advice.
Second, in 2016, Ren Zhengfei invited Chen Chunhua to give a lecture at the company, despite the objections of Huawei executives, and personally served as a driver to pick up Chen Chunhua. Chen Chunhua was surprised when she found out that the driver was Ren Zhengfei, and said, “Mr. Ren, you are probably the most expensive driver in history. I can’t afford it!”. Ren Zhengfei smiled: “This is my honor!” I thought it would be a pleasant exchange, but Chen Chunhua said bluntly: “If Huawei continues like this, it will inevitably face a lot of losses.” Ren Zhengfei sweated coldly. take.
“Leopard Change” found that the above-mentioned Huawei-related content was adapted from the article “With Mr. Ren Zhengfei: Japanese Dialogues Around the Furnace” published by Chen Chunhua on his WeChat public account “Spring Blossoms” on January 17, 2017. The original text reads:
At the end of 2016, Tian Tao, Meng Ping, Cao Yi, and Professor Yao Yang met with Mr. Ren Zhengfei, the founder of Huawei. Waiting there, very impressed. Sitting down, Mr. Ren saw that we were wearing thin clothes, so he asked the colleagues around him to see if the conference room with the fireplace was free. If it was free, we would go there, and when it was confirmed that we could go there, Mr. Ren would show us around. Go to another conference room.
What amazes me is that Mr. Ren drove us by himself as a driver. Teacher Yao and I both said that this should be the most expensive “driver” in history. Sitting in the car driven by Mr. Ren, I admire Mr. Ren even more. At the first two sessions of the meeting, I was deeply impressed. This is a completely different leader.
So, here comes the truth! The original text is Chen Chunhua’s admiration for Ren Zhengfei from the first-person perspective, but after various processing and interpretations, the above content is completely reversed.
Who is operating behind the scenes?
On the Internet, there are two public opinion fields about Chen Chunhua.
A public opinion field is Chen Chunhua’s official Douyin account, WeChat public account, as well as traditional paper media, financial city, activity line and other institutions. Chen Chunhua’s official Douyin account “Spring Blossoms” is operated by Shanghai Zhidao Knowledge Digital Technology Co., Ltd.
As of July 7, a total of 1,315 original content have been published, mainly videos, articles and corporate management content of Chen Chunhua’s speeches on various occasions. Among them, there are more than 120 articles by searching for “Huawei”, and none of the above exaggerated content appears.
The Economic Observer, Activity Bank, Financial City and other institutions have also published content related to Chen Chunhua many times. People from the Financial City told “Leopard Change” that Chen Chunhua is highly recognized in the industry and belongs to the industry leader level.
Another public opinion field is the content accounts of major websites and short video platform accounts. This time, Huawei-related content is basically spread through these channels, and behind these channels is a huge chain of interests.
“Leopard Change” found that at the end of many articles and videos related to Chen Chunhua, Huawei and Ren Zhengfei, they all mentioned Chen Chunhua’s book “Value Symbiosis”, and claimed that whether it is a business owner or a workplace worker, if you want better You should read this book if you want to develop, get promoted, and raise your salary.
According to Jingdong Books, the book will be published by People’s Posts and Telecommunications Publishing House in April 2021, and the price is 75.5 yuan.
Relevant content has been released since June 2021, with the most intensive releases in October-November 2021. Many accounts posted the same video.
The above content, without exception, puts Huawei, Ren Zhengfei, and Peking University professors prominently in the title and beginning. Chen Hao, a senior Internet marketer in Beijing, told “Leopard Change” that these contents should be operated by the people who promote the book, otherwise the book will not be mentioned at the end, and the traces of human operation are obvious. “After some authors sign a contract with a publishing house, the follow-up marketing is done by the publishing house, and the author generally doesn’t care about this. It may be outsourced, and the benefits inside are also relatively large.” Chen Hao said.
However, it is clear that the publishing house is also unwilling to carry this “pot”. Machinery Industry Press and Chen Chunhua have cooperated to publish many books, and the books currently on sale in Chen Chunhua’s Douyin Store are all published by this publisher.
After Huawei’s statement, the Machinery Industry Press also issued a statement saying: “Recently, there have been many articles and videos on the Internet that exaggerate and deduce Professor Chen Chunhua’s interpretation and comments on Huawei. This kind of behavior uses false information to attract traffic and sell pirated books. Caused mental distress, reputational damage, and economic loss to Professor Chen Chunhua, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., and Machinery Industry Press… Our agency has in November 2021 investigated the pirated booksellers ( (including self-media accounts) filed a lawsuit and will continue to defend their rights through legal means.”
Liu Qing, the founder of an online marketing company in Jiangsu, told Leopard Change that the purpose of those who publish relevant content is very clear, that is, to promote books, possibly book dealers or book sellers.
“Publishers generally don’t sell books directly, and it’s definitely not at the brand level. To put it bluntly, it is to bring traffic and goods. It is easier to divert traffic by rubbing Huawei and Ren Zhengfei.” Liu Qing said.
Yang Di, a person close to the publishing house in Beijing, said that the publishing house has people who specialize in recommending new books, and they usually post some book reviews or brief introductions in the industry. “. The above content is more like an outsourced soft-text advertisement, which may be out of control in the middle link, which is the case.
Economist Ma Guangyuan posted on Weibo: “It should not be true to say that ‘Huawei has nothing to do with Professor Chen Chunhua’. Chen Chunhua should have been invited by Huawei to have a discussion with Ren Zhengfei. And ‘Huawei doesn’t know her, and she can’t be.’ Know Huawei.’ This is even more arbitrary.” He believes that in this case, both Huawei and Chen are victims, and both parties should hold these hype people accountable.
The grey chain of the pirate book seller
As a popular category, books have gained high attention on platforms such as Douyin and Pinduoduo.
At the end of 2021, affected by the “double reduction” policy, when New Oriental founder Yu Minhong moved to live streaming, the first category to try was books. To this day, in the live broadcast room of Dongfang Selection, books are still the “old face” of the live broadcast room.
Douyin e-commerce staff told “Leopard Change” that the platform has relatively loose requirements for book merchants to settle in. In addition to providing basic qualifications such as business licenses and legal person ID cards, non-imported book franchise stores need to provide two or more publishers to grant them. The distribution authorization letter, the store deposit is 20,000 yuan, which is in the middle level.
However, more people choose “white wolf with empty gloves” and “no supply” to bring goods to the bookstore rather than opening their own stores. The above-mentioned Douyin e-commerce staff stated that as long as the account publishes more than 10 videos and has 1,000 fans, they can link third-party links to bring goods when publishing videos, and they can take a commission when the deal is made, and the proportion is generally around 10%-30%. .
Judging from the actual situation, the accounts that publish videos related to Huawei and Chen Chunhua are mostly vertical accounts such as reading, business management, business figures and shopping mall stories, which are in line with Chen Chunhua’s character design, and there are many business management books in the product window.
Liu Qing said that there are people around him who have sold books in this “no supply” method, and the effect is quite good. Huawei is highly topical, it is easy to attract traffic, and it is easier to become the target of book sellers.
In addition, the lower threshold also allows many low-priced books and even pirated books to find a way out in the live broadcast room. On the evening of July 6, “Leopard Changes” was broadcast live on Douyin by searching for “books”, and several live broadcast rooms appeared on the top showing “clearance sale”, “1 yuan for 1 random purchase”, “don’t keep one book and sell it later.” “.
In these live broadcast rooms, the price of books is quite low. The top four books in the shopping cart are all priced at more than 3 yuan; a full set of 10 books of Sherlock Holmes is only 2.38 yuan per volume, and a set only costs 23.8 yuan and Free shipping.
Wang Li, an Internet practitioner in Zhejiang, said that he had purchased books such as “Value” by Zhang Lei, founder of Gaolu Capital, and “Boiling New Decade” by Lin Jun, founder of Leifeng.com, on Douyin and Pinduoduo. The price is only 4.68 Yuan and 20.5 yuan, while the prices on Jingdong are more than 70 yuan and nearly 200 yuan respectively. After receiving the goods, although the content is the same as the original, the fonts sometimes have double images, and the paper texture is also poor. After reading for a period of time, the spine will be degummed and cracked, which is obviously not a genuine book.
A Douyin e-commerce operator in Zhejiang told Leopard Change that selling books through short videos and live broadcasts needs to stimulate the impulse consumption of readers. The common routine is low prices. Because the price is cheap and the quality of the book is average, it is inevitable that there will be piracy.
On the evening of July 6, Dangdang.com, which specializes in books, posted a letter to ByteDance and Zhang Yiming on its official Weibo account. The letter stated that the exchange of statements between Huawei and Chen Chunhua originated from pirated booksellers and individual self-media outlets, in order to attract traffic for the sale of pirated books, and repeatedly fabricated one or two articles into different versions with eye-catching or even vulgar titles. It is often found that pirated bookstores are very active in Toutiao and Douyin. Toutiao’s pursuit of traffic has become the magic finger of pirated booksellers. And I hope Toutiao will take action to protect the genuine copy, put an end to malicious speculation, and open up traffic.
Although Dangdang’s move is also suspected of being a hot topic, all parties have the same goals: pirated booksellers use the platform to attract attention and attract traffic for the sale of pirated books through headline parties and fabricated content.
A “misunderstanding” caused by bad booksellers stealing traffic and selling pirated books made Huawei and Chen Chunhua “strangers”. As the truth gradually becomes clear, it is time for all parties to cut off the grey interest chain.
