Judge rules Subway can be sued for misleading consumers

Subway’s chicken sandwiches do n’t necessarily have all the chicken from chicken , nor does the tuna in its tuna sandwiches come from tuna (DNA drift is very easy during cooking). A California judge has ruled that Subway can be sued for misleading customers by claiming that tuna products are 100 percent tuna. Subway tuna products contain other animal ingredients, according to UCLA University’s Marine Biology Laboratory. Subway explained that non-tuna ingredients in tuna products are likely the result of cross-contact by its employees when preparing sandwiches. A Subway spokesman expressed disappointment with the judge’s ruling but believed it could win the lawsuit.
