Google’s upcoming smartwatch prototype, the Pixel Watch, was reportedly left in a restaurant before being picked up by people who exposed it to the media . Watches are typically worn on the wrist and are used in a very different way than smartphones, so smartphone oblivion in restaurants makes sense, but the oblivion of smartwatches is suspected by many to be intentional . The Pixel Watch prototype fits the rumor mill, featuring a minimalist design with a hidden button, an optical heart rate sensor on the back, and a locking mechanism similar to Fitbit smartwatches. Google, which acquired Fitbit in 2021, is expected to announce the Pixel Watch on May 26.
