20℃ in summer, visit the nearest volcano to Beijing
This summer in Beijing, sometimes it is cloudy and sometimes rainy, plus Futian, every day is like a steamer, even if it is hot, it is not transparent, sticky and greasy. After the rain, the sky is fine, and Beijing has a long-lost blue sky and white clouds. Thinking that choosing a day is worse than hitting the sun, I decided to chase the sunset after get off work, take a self-drive, looked at the map, calculated the time, and chose the destination as the Ulan Hada Volcano Group, which is nearly 500 kilometers away from Beijing. Here I am It has been planted for 4 years.
Starting at less than 7 o’clock in the evening, it is the evening peak of Beijing, and the beautiful sunset disperses the irritability caused by the traffic jam. After getting on the G6 Beijing-Tibet Expressway, we started to gallop westward, and it was already night near Zhangbei. Considering that the car has been driven for nearly 5 hours, and it is already late at night, there are many large cars on the high-speed, and the cars in the opposite lane basically have high beams, which affects driving. When driving to Ulanqab, I lived in Jining. Come on, add some energy. Continue on the road the next day, and drive for about 1.5 hours, and finally reach the volcano group.
Ulan Hada Volcanoes
Chayouhou Banner Ulan Hada Volcano Group is located between Ulan Hada Sumu and Baiyin Chagan Town, Chayouhou Banner, Ulanqab City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, covering an area of about 260 square kilometers. Volcanic regions with eruptions during the Holocene. The volcanic group is generally distributed in the northeast and northwest direction of beads, and more than 30 volcanoes of different sizes are evenly scattered on the grasslands of Inner Mongolia. Most of them are extinct volcanoes formed by volcanic eruptions more than 100 million years ago. This volcanic group was unknown until 2012, when it was known by the volcanology community at home and abroad. After it was published in “China National Geographic” in 2015, it became famous in an instant. With the “world’s youngest volcanic group”, it gained the world’s attention and Recognition, visiting the ‘Natural Volcano Museum’ has become a hot spot in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei self-driving circle.
This time I went to the eight volcanoes in Ulan Hada, the closest to Beijing. Their most recent eruption was about 6,000 years ago. Volcanoes 1-2 have now weathered and disappeared, so they are not marked on the map. No. 3-8 volcanoes form two volcanic chains running northeast and northwest, separated by the G208 national road in the middle, with No. 4-8 volcanoes in the north-west and No. 3 volcanoes in the north-east.
Among the Ulan Hada Volcanoes, there are three centrally erupting alchemy furnace volcanoes that are the most famous (Volcano No. 3, Volcano No. 5, and Volcano No. 6). As the name suggests, they erupt from the middle of the volcano. Most of the cones of the volcano are mainly composed of basaltic clinkered agglomerates and fragmented lava, which are Stonebury-type volcanoes. Although it has been eroded to a certain extent, the shape of most of the craters is still clearly discernible, and it is called ‘the alchemy furnace of Taishang Laojun’. It has also become a natural “window” for studying modern crustal activity, volcanic resources, environment and disasters, and has extremely high scientific research, investigation, and geoscience education value. The volcano here has always been considered an extinct volcano. In recent years, geologists have concluded that this is a young active volcano after field investigations.
Volcano punch-in guide
Tourists come to the Ulan Hada Volcano Group, and the most frequent ones are the 3-6 volcanoes. On the southwest side of No. 3 volcano (North Alchemy Furnace), a plank road has been built leading to the top volcanic circle overlooking and overlooking; the southeast side is more severely damaged, like a coal digging yard. There was a red phone booth at the foot of the mountain, and many people gathered around to take pictures.
In the early years , the No. 4 volcano was invested by foreign Chinese and built into the Ulan Hada Volcano Geopark, but it did not form a scale. In addition, one third of the volcano was dug up, it was dark and not very beautiful.
Volcano No. 5 (the middle alchemy furnace) is the most complete, original, highest and largest one. Due to the weakening of pressure in the later period of the volcanic eruption, the vent in the center of the volcanic circle forms a small raised volcanic cone. It looks like a big grassy slope from a distance, and people can climb it, but there is no formal plank road, and the slope is slightly steep.
Volcano No. 6 (Southern Alchemy Furnace) is the most severely damaged volcano in the Ulan Hada Volcano Group. The volcanic stone was dug up in the early years to make roof insulation materials and drinking Water filter material, etc. Today, the surrounding area of the volcano has been hollowed out to form cliffs, and the volcanic rocks are easily broken and cannot be climbed. Due to the trend of commercial interests, human beings will unscrupulously destroy the natural environment, and it is very uncomfortable to watch. But because of ‘acquired human factors’, this place has now become a photo spot for Internet celebrities. There are many people under the mountain wearing ‘space suits’ pretending to be reliable in aliens. People can’t help but marvel that ‘the astronauts’ dream of space exploration has been realized ahead of schedule in Ulan Hada’ .
Escape the city and change your mood
Ulanqab is more than 400 kilometers away from Beijing, but it is different in terms of altitude, temperature, scenery and mood. When the scene in front of you is lined with high-rise buildings and the crowd jumps out of the numbness, it is replaced by the wind and grass and the cows and sheep are seen, and the whole person can clearly feel that the state is stretched and open. Sitting on the bench outside the volcano, looking at the endless grasslands, the sky seems to be ‘pressed down’ and the big clouds fluttering, taking a deep breath is the smell of grass and trees… The ‘remnant wind and clouds’ in the city, hundreds of kilometers away Here it is ‘the cloud is light and the wind is light’.
Due to the altitude difference of nearly 1,500 meters from Beijing and the distance from the ocean, Ulan Hada has low blue sky and low clouds, and is dry and cool. Even in midsummer, when standing on the top of the volcano cone, the hula-la wind can blow people away; the afterglow of the sunset In the middle of the night, facing the north wind, shorts and shorts can make people shiver from the cold; let alone at night, it can no longer be described as cool, but cold! On the night of Ulanqab at the end of July and the beginning of August, more than air-conditioning refrigeration, a quilt is needed to keep warm.
At night, put on warm clothes, drive to the No. 3 volcano, park the car, and when your eyes adapt to the night, look up at the sky, the stars and the Milky Way are bright in summer, the sky is quiet, and it attracts infinite reverie. There are several overnight RVs in the parking lot not far away. It should be a few families who came here for the summer vacation, and laughter and laughter can be heard from time to time.
