Professor, doctoral supervisor, young and middle-aged expert with outstanding national contributions, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and IEEE life fellow. He graduated from Xi’an Jiaotong University in 1967, obtained a master’s degree from Huazhong Institute of Technology in 1981, and a doctorate from Calgary University in Canada in 1986. In 1988, he returned to work at Huazhong University of Science and Technology. He was promoted to professor in 1991, and obtained doctoral supervisor qualification in 1993. He is currently the director of Hubei Provincial Key Laboratory of Electric Power Safety and Efficiency. He has worked successively at Calgary University in Canada, Technical University of Munich in Germany and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. He has been devoted to the research of power system and its automation for a long time, and has achieved many research results in power system adaptive control, intelligent control, subsynchronous oscillation and so on. He has won 2 second prizes of National Science and Technology Progress Awards, 2 second prizes of national teaching achievement awards, and 4 first prizes of provincial and ministerial scientific and technological achievements. Relying on the State Key Laboratory of Strong Electromagnetic Engineering and New Technology, it has built a research center for advanced electrical materials and devices, actively advocated and worked hard to practice the new research direction of advanced electrical materials and devices in China, and promoted the application of energy storage technology in electric power. applications in the system. In the past ten years, the electrochemical energy storage team he led has achieved a number of innovative achievements in battery research and development, industrialization and application. At present, relying on Wuhan New Energy Research Institute, a lithium battery energy storage technology division has been established, which is committed to the industrialization of safe and high-performance lithium battery energy storage products and intelligent management and control technology. Related products have been favored by many domestic and foreign enterprises and individual users, including State Grid, China Southern Power Grid, Sinopec, Premier Inn of Edinburgh hotel chain, and Stord local police station in Norway.
