Japanese government wants young people to drink more alcohol

Since the Covid-19 pandemic, drinking establishments such as bars have been hit hard, resulting in a sharp drop in sales of alcohol products and related taxes. The government’s response isto encourage young people to drink more . Japan’s National Tax Agency has launched a campaign called Sake Viva!, inviting contestants to submit new ideas to stimulate young people’s drinking in a bid to attract younger generations to revitalize a shrinking alcoholic beverage market.
