Netflix announced in February of this year that it had partnered with Take-Two Interactive and its subsidiary 2K to adapt the famous dystopian game BioShock. Known for its dystopian setting and amazing underwater and celestial cities, the Bioshock series consists of three titles – Bioshock, Bioshock 2, and Bioshock Infinite – which have sold over 39 million in total copies. “The Hunger Games” director Francis Lawrence has been selected to direct the film, with Michael Green writing the script, Deadline reported Thursday, citing people familiar with the matter. Lawrence is working on “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snake,” a prequel to the “Hunger Games” franchise, slated for release next year.
