Finally got my teeth

Time back to 2019. A big tooth collapsed quietly, and this battle of teeth defense began.

At that time, my awareness of tooth protection should be said to be still in the stage of “completely indifferent”. After all, in the previous several physical examinations, the doctor also reminded me of my dental health many times. I am indeed “live up to expectations” and still go my own way. The day after the big tooth collapsed, I went to the nearest dental clinic for an examination, and the conclusion was that the internal caries suffered from uneven stress and collapsed. The doctor suggested that I add braces after root canal treatment. I temporarily put it off with a reason. After returning home, I also checked a series of information on the Internet, and finally decided to ignore it.
In the blink of an eye, I haven’t been idle for half a year. Out of my psychological resistance to the “incomplete body”, I’m always fiddling with it. At the end of the year, it was perfectly transformed into a stump. Yes, the half tooth that should still be strong was “tortured” into a stump by me.

Finally, at midnight on New Year’s Day in 2022, it exploded. From the rhythmic “cone pain” that is still tolerable, to the half-head pain connected to the cranial nerves that doubt life. I was exhausted after a night of perseverance. Super crazy! So, I made up my mind to unplug it. It is necessary to do a maintenance of the oral cavity!

Fast forward to April 2022 and took the first oral CT in my life. After the doctor and I both confirmed the tooth extraction, the surgery finally began. First, after local anesthesia (the anesthetic taste is really bitter) , at the same time as the 7# tooth on the left side of the maxilla was pulled out, its neighbor wisdom tooth was also pulled out. In the communication with the doctor, the decision to implant a tooth was made again. However, after tooth extraction, there is a healing period of about 3 months. It is expected that the recovery of the alveolar bone will be seen in June or July. After the tooth extraction, the smell of blood in the mouth has been quite heavy, but there is no pain as imagined, and I am still very happy. However, my mouth full of blood startled Dabai, who made the nucleic acid for me. When he saw the blood-red cotton swab, he thought he had stabbed my throat. After listening to my explanation for a while, I breathed a sigh of relief. During the recovery period of more than a week, following the doctor’s advice and eating a light diet, I really let Bird fade out of my mouth. But the overall recovery should be pretty good, no pain or bleeding again.

In May, after inquiring in various places, I learned about the market price and process of filling teeth. I went to the dental clinic again and had three big teeth filled. There is no obvious pain during the whole process of filling, although there will be tooth sensitivity and soreness during the process. But in unbearable cases, you can signal to the medical staff, and they will add anti-allergic materials to relieve this kind of discomfort, which is really effective. After grinding the carious parts clean, the inlays are ready to be placed. The material of the inlay is glass fiber resin, and the wear resistance is said to be quite high. Compared with the mainstream filling material amalgam, it is much more skin-friendly, and there are few allergic symptoms. The grinding of the inlay is the most painful process for me, especially the grinding of the flanks of the teeth. The doctor also tried every means, and it was almost impossible to put the whole hand in my mouth. In the end, I had to use a sanding strip, that is, a long strip of fine sandpaper. It was really simple and rough, and my gums were also ground and bleeding. After a few repetitions, it finally ended. This time after the operation is quite good, there is no need to recover and no taboos. When you go home, you should eat and drink. Happy! During the 3-month treatment window, from the whole experience, it feels good!

The time has come recently. In early August, I took another oral CT scan to check the recovery of my alveolar bone. I did a routine blood test. After judging that the implantation conditions were met, I made an appointment with the doctor for the implantation surgery. On the day of the operation, the doctor repeatedly stressed that I must have a full meal at noon and come back again. I’m also very rude, I just eat until I can! Although I don’t know its intention, I personally feel that I really feel relaxed after eating and sleeping well. Before the operation, taking “Cefaclor” and “Ibuprofen” can be considered to be prepared in advance. The whole operation was carried out in a sterile environment. The doctor used a cotton ball dipped in iodophor to apply it back and forth four times. She insisted that she didn’t swallow her saliva, and she didn’t know what the doctor was going to do. Restoring our conversation at the time –

Doctor: Why did you have this tooth extracted? Are the teeth cracked?
I shake my head…
Doctor: What does shaking your head mean? Is it unclear, or is it not?
I opened my mouth and struggled…
Doctor: So there is saliva, why didn’t you tell me earlier!
The doctor helped me suck the saliva off me: because it was decayed, only the residual root was left before pulling it out.
Doctor: It’s caries. Don’t be embarrassed, it’s nothing.
I am silent…

The procedure was tedious, and because my face was covered, I had to rely on hearing for some fun. The heart rate monitor beside me is one of the few things that brings me some interest. Control yourself to relax, the “di” sound will gradually slow down, hold your breath, and the “di” sound will strengthen again. I didn’t feel bored while entertaining myself, so I completed the implant surgery. After surgery, the doctor instructed various taboos, nothing more than pay attention to spicy, avoid alcohol and tobacco. But I was so stubborn that I ate a popsicle when I got out of the hospital. Happiness is really happy! In addition to being happy, calculating the money spent on teeth is still quite painful. I can’t help but comfort myself, do it early and enjoy it… Now, the only regret is that there are still several steps to implant the teeth, and the final denture installation will take another half a year.

Just waiting for the dentures to be fitted in February next year.
