Ideological differences are a traditional issue in Sino-US relations. Due to differences in cultural origins, geostrategic positions, and cultural traditions and institutional backgrounds between China and the United States in their own development and historical evolution, the ideological differences between the two countries are not only natural, but also caused by the choice of different development paths. inevitable. Fifty years ago, the then US President Nixon visited China and held the “Meeting of the Century” with Chairman Mao and Premier Zhou, relying on the strategic vision and strategic wisdom of having the courage to transcend ideological differences. Today, the Biden administration has launched an ideological offensive against China. Its purpose is not only to plunge the relationship between the two countries into ideological conflict again, but also to try to smear China with all its might.
When the Biden administration took office, it asserted that the main competition facing the world today is the contest between the “democratic countries” of the United States and the West and the “authoritarian countries” represented by China and Russia. Putting back on the “ideological war shirt” for US-China relations did not start with the Biden administration, but it used American-style ideological standards to redistrict the camp and put China on the opposite side of the United States. For the first time, it is the result of the Biden administration establishing that China is the “biggest competitor” of the United States and continuing the “Trump Doctrine” in its China policy. After the Biden administration took office, the White House continued to launch an “ideological war” against China. For the purpose of safeguarding hegemonic interests and ensuring hegemonic status, the United States has smeared, attacked and demonized China to a new height since the infamous McCarthyism in the 1950s.
First, the U.S. government has attacked China’s international behavior to an outrageous level. For example, when it comes to territorial sovereignty, the United States attacks China as a “revisionist country” that does not abide by international law; when it comes to relations with its Asian neighbors, it attacks China as a “coercist”; when it comes to understanding and acting on the world, the United States is more It is to slander China’s desire to establish a “strength-based order” and to describe its historical policy of hegemonic expansion and interference as a “rules-based order”.

The “ideological war” launched by the Biden administration against China is largely a continuation of the “containment strategy” adopted by the United States against the Soviet Union during the Cold War. Faced with the biggest rival in mind, the United States, without exception, concentrated on activating and dispatching its own executive, legislative and other means, and by comprehensively smearing its opponent and strengthening the “free world camp” dominated by the United States, it created and provided more opportunities for itself to suppress its opponent. In the normal political, economic, social and cultural exchanges between China and the United States, Washington’s attack on China has brought “a threat to the entire government and society” to the United States. The annual “Report on Human Rights Violations in the United States” published by the Information Office of the State Council systematically exposes human rights violations against indigenous peoples and ethnic minorities in the United States. Chinese diplomats have repeatedly listed detailed data and cases of US interference in other countries’ internal affairs and military aggression on international occasions. Chinese media have deeply exposed and criticized the U.S. behavior behind the Russia-Ukraine conflict, arrogantly interfering in other countries’ affairs in the name of human rights and freedom, and provoking international conflicts and disputes.
In the face of the Biden administration’s continued ideological offensive against China, we must adhere to the strategy and tactic of “you hit you, I hit me”. The world’s civilizations are diverse, and it is even more impossible for countries to choose the only “American path” to achieve security, development and prosperity.
