Japan announced a new entry policy that will be implemented on October 11: the cap on the number of people entering a single day will be lifted, the ban on individual independent travel will be lifted, and visa requirements will be waived for short-term stays. This move is intended to use the depreciation effect of the yen to attract tourism demand in autumn and winter, and stimulate the economy by expanding inbound tourists. In the Group of Seven (G7), the only country that currently restricts the number of people entering the country due to epidemic prevention is Japan.
