Xinhua announced that COMAC’s C919 aircraft received a type certificate from the Civil Aviation Administration of China this month, but did not specify the date of the certificate’s issuance. This means that the aircraft has reached China’s commercial operation standards. This is an important step in delivering the aircraft to the customer. According to the Civil Aviation Administration of China, the Type Certificate is the first of three series of certificates required before an aircraft can begin carrying passengers, in addition to several evaluations. COMAC will deliver its first aircraft by the end of 2022. The C919 can accommodate up to 168 passengers and has a maximum range of more than 5,500 kilometers. It belongs to the short- and medium-haul category and is the main model of global aviation.
