Meta executive admits that its Metaverse app has too many problems for employees to use

According to Shah’s internal memo, none of the people who built Horizon Worlds inside Meta seem to use it much, “For many of us, we don’t spend that much time in Horizon, our dogfooding dashboard is very clear Showing this, why is this happening? Why don’t we love the product we’ve built and use it all the time? The simple truth is, if we don’t love it, how can we expect our users to love it?”
In a follow-up memo dated Sept. 30, Shah said employees were still not using Horizon enough, writing that a plan was being developed to “ hold managers accountable” for their teams to use Horizon at least once a week, “that Everyone in your organization should make it their mission to fall in love with Horizon Worlds. AMD’s revenue warning indicates that the chip market is in deep trough, the company’s stock price plunges 4%
On October 7th, AMD’s preliminary third-quarter revenue was about $5.6 billion, lower than the estimated $6.71 billion, indicating that the chip slump may be much worse than expected.
AMD shares fell 4% in after-hours trading, dragging Nvidia and Intel down more than 2%.
“The PC market was noticeably weaker this quarter, with macroeconomic conditions driving lower-than-expected PC demand,” AMD CEO Zifeng Su said in a statement. Runaway inflation and the reopening of offices and schools have led to a shift in PC demand. It’s less than during the coronavirus lockdown, when many people were staying at home and buying computers for work and study.
The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index, which tracks the 30 largest chip companies, has fallen 36.4% so far this year, after rising 41.2% in 2021.
“I think AMD is showing that no one is immune to the post-pandemic PC downturn, and those inventory corrections are affecting the company,” said Anshel Sag, a chip analyst at Moor Insights & Strategy. (Source: IT House)
