According to IT House, Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman said in the latest issue of Power On that both the AirPods series and Mac accessories will transition to the USB-C interface by 2024.
Previously, the European Parliament passed a bill requiring manufacturers to provide USB-C as a common charging interface for various devices in Europe by the end of 2024. Gurman believes that Apple will bring most of its products into compliance with the legislation by the end of 2024. He claims that Apple’s iPhone 15 series will switch to USB-C in the fall of 2023, a year earlier than the EU requires. The entry-level iPad is the only one that still has a Lightning port, and is expected to switch to USB-C by the end of this year.
