TomTom announces partnership with OpenStreetMap

TomTom, the maker of automotive GPS navigation systems, has announced a partnership with open source mapping project OpenStreetMap to launch a new map platform called TomTom Maps Platform that will set a new standard for mapping. By partnering with OpenStreetMap, the new map will be able to cover a larger area, providing more detail and freshness. TomTom expects to start rolling out the new map in the second quarter of 2023.
