Development Trends – Global
Megatrend: A new round of technology and energy revolution; hydrogen energy has become the consensus of major developed countries in the world to provide important solutions for carbon emission reduction. Regional hydrogen supply networks are gradually being formed.
Main distribution: Asia (China, Japan, Korea); America; Europe. 280 in China (accounting for ~40% of the world), built and in operation around the world except China: 380+.
Filling status: most of the United States is 70MPa, the current bus in Europe is mainly 35MPa, other vehicles are more than 70MPa, and the mainstream in Japan and South Korea is 70MPa. Liquid-liquid injection has begun to become a new research direction <2MPa.
Hydrogen supply: liquid hydrogen storage and transportation + liquid hydrogen refueling station is becoming a new hot spot, with 345MTPD in North America in 2022.
The capacity of hydrogen refueling stations and the refueling rate of hydrogen refueling machines continued to increase. It has been reported that some institutions are developing larger flow filling protocols, such as 10kg/minH70.
Development Trend – China
Two world firsts: China’s annual hydrogen production is about 33 million tons (about 12 million tons of industrial hydrogen quality standards), and the potential for clean and low-carbon hydrogen supply is huge. There are about 280 hydrogen refueling stations built and operating (as of May 2022), accounting for about 40% of the world.
The state and some localities have released medium- and long-term plans for the development of the hydrogen energy industry, and local subsidy policies have been released.
Hydrogen refueling station capacity: After 2019, the mainstream is >500kg/day, and >=1000kg/day is encouraged.
Station type: After 2020, there will be more and more fixed stations than skid-mounted stations; more and more oil-hydrogen joint construction stations have accounted for 40%; hydrogen refueling and hydrogen production integrated stations have begun to be partially piloted and verified.
Filling state: 35MPa accounts for more than 90%, and the vehicle-mounted hydrogen storage bottle is still the type III bottle, which is the absolute mainstream. The development of 70MPa in my country lags behind that of the international market, mainly because the national regulatory agency has not released the IV bottle for formal commercial use. On-board liquid hydrogen filling.
The liquid hydrogen refueling station is still in the development and test stage, but with the commercialization of domestic liquid hydrogen, the potential is huge because it is more suitable for large-scale scenarios and heavy-duty vehicles.
