Alpha from FydeOS wrote “Fydetab Duo (https://fydetabduo.com) is a relatively different tablet 2-in-1 computer, created by the operating system manufacturer Sui Stone Innovation.
Fydetab Duo is powered by Rockchip’s next-generation flagship high-end processor RK3588S: designed with 8nm process, equipped with quad-core A76 + quad-core A55 octa-core CPU and ARM high-performance GPU: external extended display supports up to 4k@60Hz. NPU with built-in 6T computing power; it is the first consumer-grade tablet with RK3588 chip. The screen of the device is a 12.35-inch QHD 16:10 IPS panel with a resolution of 2560*1600, 500nit brightness, and DCI-P3 wide color gamut coverage. This screen not only supports touch, but also can use a stylus, based on Wacom technology.
Fydetab Duo carries the FydeOS operating system released and maintained by Sui Shi Innovation by default. FydeOS is based on the secondary development of Chromium OS and integrates independent innovation technology. It is infinitely close to Google Chrome OS in terms of user experience, but it can not rely on Google services. It provides users with more options and provides enterprise customers with more flexible deployment solutions. FydeOS uses container technology to be compatible with the Android operating environment, so the experience of running Android programs and games on Fydetab Duo is very good. FydeOS also loads the “Linux Subsystem” through the mixed technical support of virtual machines and containers, which can start a pure Debian 11 environment and is compatible with applications in the subsystem loaded in window mode in the main system, including Linux with GUI program.
Fydetab Duo will be available as open source hardware, and all design manuscripts, engineering drawings, vendor driver source code, firmware and bootloaders will be open. This means that users can boot other open source operating systems on the device, such as openFyde (the open source version of FydeOS), Debian, Ubuntu or AOSP.
Fydetab Duo is one of the few high-end hardware products on the market that is specially designed for Linux and the open ecosystem. “
