SpaceX’s 55th launch of the year was OneWeb Flight #15 on a Falcon 9 rocket. British company OneWeb’s broadband satellites compete with SpaceX’s Starlink, but it has so far launched far fewer satellites into orbit than Starlink. OneWeb previously used Russian rockets to launch satellites, but the United Kingdom banned it from continuing to use Russian rockets after the Russo-Ukrainian war, so OneWeb could only turn to SpaceX. The launch, the first of three OneWeb missions, brings the number of OneWeb satellites in orbit to 504.
