Today’s news, according to 9to5Mac reports, Apple is about to release a new generation of MacBook Pro, including 16-inch and 14-inch versions, which are equipped with Apple’s self-developed chip M2 Max.

It is reported that the Apple M2 Max has 12 core CPUs with a main frequency of up to 3.54GHz. In contrast, the previous generation M1 Max has only 10 CPU cores and 32 GPU cores, while supporting 64GB of memory.

Although the number of GPUs is not shown, it can be found from the comparison with the previous generation that M2 Max may have more GPU cores. After all, M2 has a considerable upgrade compared to M1.

In terms of running scores, the single-core score of the Apple M2 Max is 1889 points, and the multi-core score is 14586 points. The single-core score of the M1 Max can reach 1700-1800 points, and the multi-core score can reach 12800 points.

In addition, the Apple M2 series also supports ProRes encoding and natively supports ProRes format video editing, which greatly improves the work efficiency of video workers, and can edit up to 11 4K video streams and two 8K video streams at the same time.
