Pinwan, January 6th, according to Jiemian News, the Internet fitness platform Peloton has agreed to pay a civil penalty of 19.1 million US dollars to settle the US Consumer Product Safety Commission’s charges against its treadmills.
Peloton’s Tread+ treadmill has previously been identified as having a flaw that could cause serious injury to consumers. The $19.1 million fine also resolves allegations that Peloton distributed the recalled treadmills in violation of the Consumer Product Safety Act, according to the CPSC.
In addition, Peloton said it will submit an annual report on its compliance program and internal control system within the next five years.
