2022 is also a very busy and fulfilling year for me. Although compared with 2021, there are not so many achievements ^_^.
As Erbao grew up, I found that my leisure time was further “compressed”. Fortunately, after Dabao went to junior high school and realized the importance of self-driven learning and related methods, her studies now basically don’t need me to ask.
At the beginning of 2022, volumes 1 and 2 of the series “Go Language Improvement: Programming Thoughts, Methods, and Skills from Novice to Master” series have gained a good reputation, and the sales volume of printed books is also good. Entering the second printing, this also gives me the opportunity to fix some problems in the errata , so that readers can get a more accurate version. In the middle of the year, I also used the “Go Reading Club in the GoCN Community” organized by Xie Da to share the writing process, content guide, and some personal reading methods and experiences of the book “The Road to Go Language Improvement”.
My “Go Language Lesson 1” column in Geek Time has attracted the attention and learning of many Gophers due to word of mouth. I am also very active in answering various questions from students . At present, this column is ranked about 15th in the Geek Time Weekly Learning Ranking List, but it still cannot be recommended on the homepage, and it is still incomparable with those big V courses that are resident on the homepage^_^.
In 2022, at the invitation of Xie Da, it was originally planned to do a training session of “Go Senior Engineer Training Camp” in the training session before GopherChina 2022, but GopherChina was postponed twice due to the epidemic, and finally the offline conference was canceled and failed to take place. It is hoped that this training will be supplemented in 2023.
2022 is the second year I have entered the track of intelligent networked vehicles. I mainly spend my energy on research and development of several important core products, including: car-cloud communication products, DSL-based data processing products on the car side, cloud streaming Data processing and time series data storage products, etc., have a large span and are very difficult. At present, the car cloud communication products have been deployed in the production environment of our major customers, providing car cloud channel capabilities for 2023 models. In addition, we are also conducting POC tests with some major domestic OEMs. The time-series data storage product has entered a critical design stage. This piece of experience is indeed insufficient, and it needs to invest a lot of energy in learning, thinking and experimenting. In 2023, I will invest a lot of energy in this product.
In terms of blog writing, I still maintain a high enthusiasm. According to a rough count, I have written more than 80 articles this year. Just like in 2021, here I also selected some of the most popular articles on this blog in 2022 based on the number of readings (in no particular order):

After reviewing the blog articles in 2022, I feel that the current blog topic selection is more driven by “problems encountered in work and study”, and there is still a lack of systematic planning and organization. In 2023, this aspect needs to be strengthened.
Finally look ahead to 2023!
In terms of paper book writing, whether to open the third volume of “Go Language Improvement Road” in 2023, whether to expand the “Go Language Lesson 1” column, and then organize it into a paper book for publication, etc. are all possible but not determined things.
There are also some immature topic selection ideas for the column:
- How to write idiomatic Go code
- In-depth understanding of Go core technology
- Go senior engineers must know and know (expanded on the basis of training)
The Gopher Tribal Knowledge Planet is also entering its third year of operation, with a few changes attempted in 2022, which have worked out well. In 2023, try to focus again: do high-quality sharing around a few themes that are few but refined.
The biggest “loss” in 2022 is that the Weibo account has been frozen, and currently only the small account can be used temporarily. It is unclear when the previous account will be restored, and it may be lost forever. Losing the important private domain traffic of Weibo, the loss is still quite big 🙁
In 2023, due to the product of time series data storage, I may really start to learn the Rust language. Although I have learned it many times before, I have always given up from getting started. This time with product and project drivers, I hope I won’t “repeat the same mistakes” ^_^.
