Summary

As an emerging industry spanning communications, transportation, and automobiles, the Internet of Vehicles is an important strategic direction for the country’s development and an important guarantee for the realization of overtaking in corners with autonomous driving. Under the vigorous promotion of national policies and the guidance of industry demand, the development of Internet of Vehicles has gradually shifted from technical verification to large-scale commercial development. The industrial chain is basically mature, and the basic conditions for large-scale commercial use are initially met.

Based on the integration of 5GUu+C-V2XPC5, the “cloud-pipe-device” Internet of Vehicles system architecture can realize environment perception, data fusion calculation and decision-making control, thereby providing safe, efficient and convenient Internet of Vehicles services. At the same time, network capabilities such as MEC, slicing, security, and uRLLC can provide low-latency, high-reliability, secure and flexible network environment guarantees for the Internet of Vehicles.

Background

Under the continuous guidance of national policy dividends, China’s smart transportation has entered a period of take-off. As a ubiquitous connection scenario, the Internet of Vehicles is an important infrastructure and technical path for realizing smart transportation.

my country’s Internet of Vehicles uses C-V2X as the main technical means, and the standardization work is completed under the leadership of 3GPP. C-V2X enhances the characteristics of low latency, high reliability and high-speed mobility of the Internet of Vehicles. After multiple tests and verifications at home and abroad, the performance of C-V2X technology is better than DSRC, and it has gradually become the mainstream technology of the international Internet of Vehicles.

C-V2X Internet of Vehicles includes cellular communication (Uu port) and direct connection communication (PC5 port). In terms of technological evolution, C-V2X is gradually evolving from LTE-V2X to NR-V2X; in terms of industrial applications, China is actively promoting the deployment and application of 5GUu+C-V2XPC5 integrated car networking solutions and commercialization model exploration.
