According to the website of the State Administration for Market Regulation, a few days ago, BMW Brilliance Automotive Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the requirements of the “Regulations on the Administration of the Recall of Defective Automobile Products” and the “Implementation Measures for the Regulations on the Administration of the Recall of Defective Automobile Products”. A total of 171,828 domestically produced 5-series vehicles were recalled from September 2, 2019 to December 26, 2020.
Due to software problems, the vehicles within the scope of this recall may have a black screen on the combination instrument, unable to display necessary vehicle information (such as vehicle speed, etc.), posing a safety hazard.
IT Home learned that this recall was carried out when the State Administration for Market Regulation initiated a defect investigation. BMW Brilliance Automobile Co., Ltd. will program software for the recalled vehicles free of charge to eliminate potential safety hazards.
