GIMP, an open-source image-editing software project, has released its 2022 annual report. In 2022 the GIMP project released a stable version, 3 development versions; the development branch has 1461 commits, and the stable branch has 276; Wayland support is still unstable, and the GTK+3 port is almost complete; on Windows GIMP is now supported by Microsoft Windows Store provided to users. The project’s plan for 2023 is to release GIMP 3.0.0 within the year, which is not certain. At least one RC version will be released. The developer emphasizes that this is not a promise, and there is no guarantee.
