Recently, I have been using AI-related products to assist my work every day, including ChatGPT, Midjourney, cursor.so, etc., mainly ChatGPT.
Basically, I seldom ask AI directly if I don’t want to. Most of the time I encounter problems that I can’t solve, or simply search the Internet, and then ask the AI. Since I have already searched the Internet, I will be relatively well-prepared for the questions for the AI, and I will get my answers with relatively full keywords, and I am basically satisfied. It often feels like this:
Searching Google with keywords feels like looking for a needle in a haystack, but after asking AI, basically the answers you get are pretty much the same.
Then I thought about the other side, which is that as an indie developer, I basically self-organize my work, that is, manage myself. Most of the time, when I want to do something specific, I create a task for myself and start doing it.
Simple things are of course no problem, it is quite efficient, and it is done very quickly from the idea. When encountering complicated things, the disadvantage of doing this comes out. The bandwidth of the human brain is limited. If you don’t sort out the requirements before dealing with complex tasks, or don’t break down the tasks, you often spend a lot of time and don’t know. I did something myself. In order to solve this problem, I usually use the way of taking notes to assist myself in thinking, so as to avoid starting to do things after thinking clearly.
However, when taking notes, sometimes I am eager for success and the notes are messy. When I review it later, I will be confused and don’t know what I am writing.
Combined with an experience after communicating with AI recently, I learned that the correct prompt is so important. Conversely, when taking notes, I implied that I was also talking to AI, thinking about how to write clearly and concisely, through this Notes written down in this way, you will not encounter the situation of not being able to understand what you are writing in the future.
From this point of view, I will not use some note-taking tools with AI generation functions, unless I really can’t think of anything at all, then ask ChatGPT again, and don’t copy and paste the answers into the notes Tools, after all, this is a snapshot of my brain, I hope that what I can leave here is the content that I really thought about and digested, not the content generated by other means.
PS: The text text is written by humans, and the illustrations are generated by Midjourney.
