The track of travel has been going south, constantly breaking through the “southernmost point I have ever been to”, from Shanghai, to Hangzhou, Xiamen, Guangzhou, Singapore, and recently went to Bali Island, and passed the equator for the first time.
We set off from Singapore, first went to Jakarta for a transit, and then went to Bali.
The time in Bali made me doubt my life: our trajectory has been flying eastward, and when we arrived in Jakarta, the time changed by -1, and then from Jakarta to Bali, the time was +1 again. What about adding after subtracting?
In the end, I found that the strange thing was not Indonesia, it turned out to be Singapore. This place was originally UTC+7, but the reality is UTC+8. As a result, as long as we leave Singapore, it will first change to normal UTC +7, and then go east, and then experience A normal time zone change can become UTC +8.
The city where Bali is located is called Denpasar, so the ticket says Denpasar instead of Bali. Because of the height limit of buildings in Bali, it doesn’t matter where the airport is built…so it was built in the urban area. This is the only airport in the urban area I have been to. The airport was reclaimed from the sea, so there is a feeling of falling into the sea when descending.
I was worried about the weather before I came. The weather forecast said that there will be rain almost every day for the next week. After coming here, I found that this kind of worry is almost unnecessary. It rains very rarely, and even if it does, it will not last for a whole day. The sun comes out very quickly, unlike Singapore, which often falls for several days. It may also be related to the rainy season that has just passed, and the rainy season in Bali is from October to March.
Day 1
Arrived at the hotel on the first day, and then had a welcome drink at the bar on the top floor. The bartender was very enthusiastic and introduced a lot of Indonesian culture to us.
Then went to a closer beach and was a bit disappointed with the amount of litter on the beach… then went to a bar for dinner and had… hamburgers.
I just went to Phuket recently (huh? What about travel notes?), before I came to Bali, I thought the islands would be similar, but after I came here, I found that they are very different. The beach in Phuket is very clean, and many workers were cleaning the beach in the evening. Public beaches in Bali are full of rubbish, and most resort hotels have their own private beaches. (I feel like the government is not doing well)
The food is also the same. Phuket is full of Thai food. During the few days of our travel, we walked into a random Thai restaurant every day. Bali is different. It is actually mostly Western-style pizza and burgers. (I will know why later…)
Day 2
The next day, I directly reported a group and went to sea. Go snorkeling in the morning and check in at several scenic spots in the afternoon. The itinerary is mainly around Penida Island.
A very interesting thing happened. I was wearing a pair of Asics shoes one day, and a guy from England came up to me and asked me where I bought the shoes. I told him the model number. I thought it was because there were other topics in the opening remarks, but I didn’t expect him to check with his father on the Internet and check the price of British pounds and new coins with me. For the first time, I felt a feeling of “Xiaohongshu Jimei wants to link”.
Check-in scenic spot 1, check-in is really a card, come, take a photo, and then leave…
The second place is actually quite dangerous. If you take a step forward, you will fall down from the place where you took the photo. It is very, very high.
The third scenic spot is a bit rubbish in comparison, and this is what I took:
Xiaohongshu users took photos like this:
In the evening, I took the boat back to Bali and found an Indonesian restaurant with the highest rating on Trip Advisor.
The Indonesian people are extremely warm and friendly. When I meet people in the service industry, such as hotel waiters, drivers, and restaurant waiters, they will all greet me friendly, even if I am holding an umbrella from another hotel, which is obviously not from the same hotel. I am on the road They will also greet you in a friendly manner.
When we arrived at this restaurant, we found that this restaurant was in a hotel. When ordering food, the waiter asked us our room number, and we said that we didn’t live here and just came here to eat. After the waiter heard it, his eyes lit up and he said thank you. Then, I experienced almost the best meal in my life!
This is almost the service of a five-star hotel, and the per capita is only about 150 RMB. But compared to local prices, it may be very expensive. Every time the waiter serves the dishes, he introduces us to the raw materials of each dish, the production method, and the history in the Indonesian tradition. There was a dish with 10 kinds of sauces, and she patiently gave us 10 minutes to explain what each sauce was. And we asked “how’s the food” no less than 10 times in total, and out of politeness we always said it was good. Many techniques are also very professional, for example, the plates are warm, and the bread is served in a basket. The environment is also great and the hotel is beautiful. There is only one bad thing: it just doesn’t taste good.
It’s a pity that my stomach really can’t appreciate Indonesian food, and I didn’t eat much. In the end, I couldn’t hide it anymore, so I had to say “it’s good but not our taste”, the enthusiastic waiter leaked the disappointment that couldn’t be concealed, and the smile gradually disappeared… I took the bill and gave a tip and then quickly slipped away… And decided to take it The itinerary here is mainly Western food.
They also asked me to fill out the Feedback card, and later found that many restaurants asked me to write this, and the hotel also asked me to write. It seems that the people here pay great attention to the quality of service.
Day 3
I chartered a car and continued to check in at various attractions.
The first attraction: Tanah Lot.
Then I went to a waterfall. To be honest, it felt average, similar to Hangzhou Jiuxi…
At the end is a terraced field, like an amusement park complex, with internet celebrity swings (the very tall ones), terraced fields, and a swimming pool party.
There are also some statues, such as this one:
This kind:
There is also this:
In the evening, I went back to the hotel and ordered a takeaway from Pizza Hut, and it was over.
Day 4
I changed to another hotel (actually the same one, both owned by IHG), it was a resort, and I stayed in the hotel for a day.
Then I went to Niujiao in the afternoon and had a buffet. You can eat all you want for only 40 Singapore dollars, and you can also watch the sunset (remember this sunset, it will appear again, in a different form). The horns in Singapore cost 90 SGD.
Day 5
I had no plans for this day, but later I chartered a car to go south. (I regret it)
The first stop is Uluwatu, the cliffs, the sea, very beautiful.
The picture below is called Lover’s Cliff:
Before coming in, the driver reminded us to watch out for the glasses, there are monkeys inside. There are also signs in various languages in the temple to remind tourists to be optimistic about their belongings and pay attention to monkeys. I thought it was hilarious, it was exaggerated.
…The picture below is my glasses, and the monkey who snatched it:
Don’t know why monkeys want to eat my glasses. Then a woman came, gave the monkey a few bags of beans to get my glasses back (although they were completely useless), and then reached out to us for money…
Now I feel that Singapore does not allow feeding monkeys (feeding monkeys is illegal). It makes sense. If you feed too much, they will snatch your things. The monkeys you see while hiking are relatively honest.
The last stop is Jimbaran Beach to watch the sunset, the beach sunset…isn’t it beautiful?
When I arrived, I found this:
It’s ok if you don’t get trash.
The next day, I soaked in the hotel again and went back to work.
