36 Krypton learned that Li Krypton (Guangzhou) Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Li Krypton Technology”), a provider of wire-controlled chassis system solutions, recently announced the completion of nearly 200 million yuan in Series A and A+ rounds of financing.
Among them, the A round of financing was jointly led by Yuanjing Capital and Innovation Works, and the Shanghai Free Trade Zone Fund and its Lingang New Area Science and Technology Innovation Fund, and Jiuhe Venture Capital followed the investment; the A+ round of financing was led by Harvest Investment, Yiqili Co-investment, old shareholders Yuanjing Capital, Shanghai Free Trade Zone Fund and Lingang New Area Science and Technology Innovation Fund pursued investment.
It is understood that this round of financing will be used for the construction of the first and second phases of the Likrypton Technology Intelligent Manufacturing Industrialization Base and the investment in the research and development of the next-generation products of the wire-controlled chassis to ensure the company’s “Hydraulic Decoupling Electronic Brake Booster DHB (DHB) Decoupled Hydraulic Booster)” and “Integrated Intelligent Brake System IHB (Integrated Hydraulic Brake)” were delivered on a large scale during the year.
Likrypton Technology was established in 2021, focusing on the key areas of new energy vehicles and autonomous driving, and is committed to providing complete wire-controlled chassis solutions to car companies and industrial partners.
CEO Hui Zhifeng graduated from Imperial College London. He used to be the executive assistant to the president of Bosch, responsible for the application and promotion of Bosch’s new product technology in the domestic market. Previously, he was responsible for the implementation of 0-1 market projects in many domestic autonomous driving companies. CTO Su Ganting was the head of Huawei’s wire-controlled chassis system. He previously worked in TRW Automotive Technology and ZF ZF. He has rich experience in mass production projects, covering international and domestic OEM projects.
It is understood that the core team of Likrypton Technology comes from international parts suppliers and OEMs such as Bosch, ZF, Continental, Huawei, SAIC, Geely, and has a team with complete wire-controlled chassis platform development capabilities and application landing capabilities. The team size is expected to reach 150 during the year.

As is well known to the public, in the past in the era of fuel vehicles, the core component technologies of fuel vehicles were firmly monopolized by international component suppliers. However, under the wave of vehicle electrification and intelligence, China’s smart electric vehicles have the opportunity to overtake on curves.
The wire-controlled chassis industry to which Likrypton Technology belongs is a field that can leverage the international parts supplier market. To understand the opportunities that Likrypton Technology faces, we need to start with the chassis of the car.
Automobile chassis generally includes four major systems: transmission, steering, braking and driving. Taking the braking system (ie, the braking system) as an example, the traditional braking system in the era of fuel vehicles is mainly carried out in a purely mechanical way. When the foot steps on the brake pedal, the braking intention is transmitted to the brake through a hydraulic or air pressure pipeline.
The brake-by-wire system transmits execution information by electrical signals. For new energy vehicles, in addition to the traditional way of additionally equipped with an electronic vacuum pump, a brake-by-wire system can also be used to replace the combination of a vacuum booster and an electronic vacuum pump.
Hui Zhifeng, CEO of Li Krypton Technology, told 36 Krypton that the brake-by-wire system not only has a faster braking response and more accurate adjustment, but is also an important guarantee for the safety of autonomous driving. More importantly, most of the current new energy vehicles have battery life anxiety, and Electronic brake boosters help the vehicle achieve energy recovery.
Under high-level autonomous driving requirements, car companies usually configure a new electronic booster and a body stability system (called ESP or ESC in the industry, which has similar functions to electronic brake boosters), providing two sets of independent braking systems , to keep passengers safe in an emergency.
“Break-by-wire does not appear out of thin air, it is a new change and new demand in the market, and it is an upgrade and iteration of the original technology. In the future, whether it is the intelligence or automation of new energy vehicles, a wire-controlled chassis will be needed as a basic solution to provide energy recovery and Line control redundancy backup capability.” Hui Zhifeng said.
At present, the market penetration rate of BBW products is not high. Because the wire-controlled products themselves have high safety requirements and high technical barriers, 90% of the new energy vehicles in China currently use products from the international Tier 1 Bosch.
“So OEMs need to find alternative solutions. From the point of view of time, domestic players must have the opportunity to make local brake-by-wire solutions and wire-controlled chassis. This is the result of years of deposition, and it is also the current intelligent and electrified solution. It is an inevitable choice.” Hui Zhifeng said.

This is also the reason why Likrypton Technology aims at the field of wire-controlled brake products and chooses to start a business in 2021.
In response to the demand of car companies for brake-by-wire products, Likrypton Technology has launched two products: “DHB (Decoupled Hydraulic Booster)” and “Integrated Intelligent Brake System IHB (Integrated Hydraulic Brake)” .
From a functional point of view, the latter integrates functions such as body stability control, automatic driving, and energy recovery, which is what the industry calls “One Box” products.
The former is a full hydraulic decoupling solution that integrates automatic driving requirements and energy recovery functions. It not only realizes the pedal decoupling of the brake-by-wire function, but also can be used with basic ESC or ABS (anti-lock braking system) products of any brand. It greatly reduces the development time and R&D investment of OEMs, and at the same time, it can be combined with ESC to realize the braking redundancy function, which is just needed for L3 and above autonomous driving vehicles.
With DHB & IHB two sets of products, Likrypton Technology completed the winter calibration of 9 models of brake-by-wire products with 6 car companies in the past winter, covering all passenger models of sedans, SUVs and MPVs, and will achieve the first in mid-2022. Large-scale mass production of a car company project.
“We are more in line with the cost considerations of other OEMs. After using Likrypton DHB products, the cost of a single piece and R&D expenses can be greatly reduced.” Hui Zhifeng said.
“Currently is a relatively good window period. We will concentrate on polishing the two products and promote them to more customers. It is expected that within 3-5 years, we are expected to stand at the forefront of the domestic online control field.”
Li Krypton Technology believes that under the tide of electrification and intelligence, BBW products will definitely become standard. Although the brake-by-wire industry is in its infancy, it is the best tentacle to cut into the chassis field.
Starting from the brake-by-wire products, Likrypton will gradually open up the wire-controlled chassis product system in the future, and gradually develop into the field of wire-controlled steering and chassis domain controllers, and finally create an integrated wire-controlled chassis.
The logic similar to “all consumer goods are worth doing again in China” is being replicated in the automotive industry: the technology tree that has been lit up in the era of fuel vehicles can be re-clicked in the field of pure electric vehicles. This is everyone’s chance, and Likrypton Technology has already got an admission ticket.
