When reading Wang Xiaobo’s novels, I often feel that I am facing four kinds of realities. One is the reality of the narrator in the book, and the narrator often narrates things of another era, such as the golden age in fantasy, the silver age, and the era of Tang legends. At the same time, the narrator must use the era he narrates to reflect the era he lives in. As a reader, when reading, you will use the two kinds of light of the times in the novel to look back at the present… Occasionally, you can’t help but worry about the future or feel hopeful about the future (of course, when you hope few).
If Wang Xiaobo lived to this day, would he choose to be at home or abroad… I think it should be at home. Judging from his essays and guessing his temperament, he should follow Li Yinhe.
