As a person who thinks separation is much more important than storage, and doesn’t like the kitchen not to be overcrowded, I don’t actually buy many storage supplies, but these are the ones I continue to use after moving several times.

It makes effective use of the deep cabinet space and is perfect for storing various spices. Gathering similar items on one tray can also effectively reduce visual clutter. Although OXO is a bit ugly, it spins very smoothly. You can often see turntables in discount stores such as TJ MAXX. It is recommended to put some items on it to feel whether it will stagger around when turning. The Yamazaki storage rack next to the spice turntable is also very convenient to use. It can hold pot lids and long-handled soup spoons.

After working in a bakery, I discovered that hanging up all the commonly used tools instead of storing them in drawers is a game changer! If you can’t use a telescopic rod + hook combination, this kind of magnet hook with strong suction is also very good. Can be sucked onto the microwave above the stove in an American apartment. After moving in together, I put away my set of heavier and stronger utensils. MUJI’s very lightweight silicone three-piece set can meet my cooking needs. Highly recommended!

Most people should have it at home. I don’t use many dishes frequently, so I try to put them on the lowest level for easy access. Shelves are suitable for increasing vertical space. If the plates don’t come with matching plates, it might be easier to stand them up like a book.
Joseph Joseph cutlery storage
The apartment I lived in before had very few drawers in the kitchen, so I bought this storage unit for chopsticks, cutlery and forks . It saves a lot of space than the traditional horizontal arrangement. Last time I bought a knife holder imitating the same brand to make up for the purchase, and it was very easy to use. Every time I choose a knife, I have the illusion of being a Chinese master.
Transparent food storage
The most important thing for me about refrigerator storage is that I need to intuitively see what is inside, so I basically only use transparent food storage ( IKEA glass boxes , OXO plastic buckets , Stasher silicone bags ). The “free” options include large pickle glass jars and small plastic square boxes that used to be from Costco nuts (I recently realized that they have been replaced by TAT bags, which are actually very suitable for flour and sugar)
stainless steel drain basket
The MUJI stainless steel drain basket given by a friend is much better than the expensive plastic drain basket I bought before! The bottom metal plate is designed to be used both horizontally and vertically. If there are any water stains, just put it in the dishwasher! The Swedish dish cloth designed for timepieces is also highly recommended! The color is very fresh, it is highly absorbent when used on countertops, and it can also be put into the dishwasher for disinfection.
