2024 Wardrobe Recap | 2024 衣橱回顾

This year’s closet spending has reached a new high ($2700), excluding some shoemaker’s tailor work and intimate apparel, I spent about $2500 on 31 occasions, and I didn’t renew my rental of Rent the Runway at the beginning of this year after the winter season, instead I bought some clothes that I rented last year, which I really liked and I’m sure that I utilize them a lot on a daily basis. In addition to renting my own favorite, the most often planted scene is still the subway or on the road to observe passers-by, the most appealing to me is often those old clothes and old shoes with traces of wear, presenting their own most relaxed appearance, the wearer also looks comfortable and at ease. This is a different feeling from wearing bloggers to put all kinds of new clothes in harmony, real-world collocation so that people will not pay special attention to a particular piece of clothing, but to appreciate the harmony between people and clothes, will not have the kind of consumer impulse to buy buy buy buy after watching. Friday after work on the way home past Chinatown or Soho, sample sale do not have to queue up if you will occasionally look, so there are also a lot of their own out of thin air to create demand.

The highest spending category was jackets ($700; 30% of total spending). Three of these were rented by RTR last year.

Everlane Italian ReWool Oversized Shirt Jacket* | $42

I passed by the Everlane sample sale in April, a brand that I probably haven’t visited since except for one purchase in the early days of the business when there were only a dozen or so products on the website. I tried on this shirt jacket and it fit me surprisingly well, and the price was reasonable. I was struggling with the fact that I’ve bought similar jackets in the past that ended up being unused, but after buying it I realized that this thick wool jacket (with 69% recycled wool) is quite suitable for situations where the weather isn’t too cold but it’s windy. The dark blue color is a bit dusty on me, but it’s practical. Bought XXS and sized up.

Scotch & Soda Checked Shirt Jacket | $58

Last year, RTR rented a very favorite shirt jacket, compared to Everlane a lot more details, dark blue base and added on the golden brown and red stitching embellishments, so with the time is also more interesting, the fabric is not stiff material, wearing activities more comfortable. This is the old thought after the fall, wait until the RTR online sample sale time to buy, the degree of use is also acceptable to stay.

I went to an RTR offline sample sale, which was very much in line with the online reviews – NYC’s largest crap sale – and the condition of the clothes was over the top, so I’m not going to fall for it again. I won’t be fooled next time.

Mackage Oceane-City Down Jacket* | $555

I bought another jacket from RTR online sample sale, and when I received it, I realized that the down was all gathered to one side and I couldn’t wear it at all. I’ve rented it twice in the last year, and it’s a very solid design with a down undershirt and knit sleeve sections, and it’s been fine in 0+ degree weather. It was also very sharp without the extra hat. Later, when I went to Montreal to play, I stopped by the store to buy it, and J people originally planned to buy a black medium in their hearts, but after trying the cream color, I bought a light color at the urging of my family. Definitely no black good care, but winter does not wear all black mood really much better. I can actually wear both small and medium sizes, but medium sizes are looser and more casual.

Samsøe Samsøe Hoys Blazer | $45

Also rented found to fit very well reddish brown blazer, there are slight shoulder pads so do not show narrow shoulders head big. This Scandinavian brand is not convenient to buy in the United States, before buying the so-called original single pleated skirt on Taobao also often wear. In October, I stumbled upon a brand new one on Grailed for only $45, and it’s just my size (XS; sizes run large overall). I waited a long time for it to arrive from Finland, but I’m super happy with it and have already worn it to a job interview. I’ve been happy for a long time to finally get my favorite dress at a great price!

Knitwear was not really in demand this year, but I created the demand myself …… spent $430 total!

Sezane Emile Cardigan | $185

Before going to California, I thought of buying a thicker cardigan to wear as a small jacket, and after being planted by youtuber and trying it on in the store, I found that this one is considered the least bulky one for sezane ordinary people to wear. Just have the right number (XXS; bias large) bought and brought, the utilization rate is very high on the journey. Close to wear will have a little tie, spring and fall days is still quite practical.

Sea New York Finja Top | $81

Like the Samsøe blazer it’s also a particular favorite after renting it. The faux two piece solves the problem of always bulging with a shirt tucked inside a sweater undershirt, and the knit pattern and sleeve details are adorable. I was super happy to squat a brand new one with tags at TheRealReal (you can squat anything used if you want to)!

Uniqlo Souffle Yarn Cardigan | $0

Thredup has some nearly expired credit on the use of buy a cardigan from Uniqlo to throw the office random ride. This kind of Shuffleboard fabric is very not recommended, the store touched and soft and sticky in fact, wear a few times on the wild pilling. Uniqlo’s sweater I have been less afraid to buy, the first few times to wear a good back to have to wait ……

Maison Kitsuné Half Zip Ribbed Sweater* | $163

I bought this sweater on impulse after coming across it at the sample sale. I was already a bit obsessed with this half-zip sweater, and I bought it in this pink color because it actually looks good on me. The downside is that the L size can be worn alone, and then add a jacket on the outside is not quite comfortable, so it is only suitable for spring and fall seasonal wear.

Top spending is on par with knit, interestingly this is the only category where I spent more on used than new. 4 of the second hand pieces were found second hand because they were too expensive for the regular price, the price must be stuck in the range of no GST ($110) XD The new ones are mostly Uniqlo, MUJI worn out innerwear or basics for new ones. Uniqlo was a favorite last year!Undershirt with padded chest*I got another black and white color to wear to work while it was on sale, and some cotton long sleeve tees for inside in the fall.

A.P.C. VPC T-shirt* | $35

Rented it and liked it and stayed.

Christy Dawn Beatrice Top | $108

I found this little shirt in soho by a passerby who planted it on me using google image recognition, and the navy collar still makes me swoon!

Depound Oversized Shirt |$26

I’ve been wanting to buy this loose-fitting shirt for a long time, but the original price was too expensive, so I bought it when I found it second-hand on poshmark before I left for Taiwan. It can be worn over a tank top to protect from the sun in high summer, or tucked into pants and worn as a work shirt.

CDG Play Striped Shirt* | $78

Also bought the right size when I saw it on poshmark, the women’s runs small and even the L I bought is a relatively flattering size.

I’ve added 6 pairs of pants this year, almost all of which I bought after trying them on offline and they fit.

Los Angeles Apparel Heavy Jersey Garment Dye Casual Pants | $48

I bought a new one instead of the old one before I went to Taiwan, and it was perfect for the weather at that time, loose and comfortable. The old one is super comfortable to wear as loungewear.

niko and… Chino Pants 971124 | $52

Wandered into this store on Zhongxiao East Road and thought it was cute, the style of clothes is more Japanese also some American vintage knickknacks (saw Fishs Eddy’s little plate). I’ve been trying to find a pair of khaki pants, and these are very pear-shaped figure-friendly and recommended! Also threw on a striped short sleeve in the same color. Every time I wear that, I still remember how happy I was when I was on the street in Taipei.

Aritzia Weekender Pants | $88

And lululemon on the fly as comfortable as the commuter pants, high-waisted (I wear just to the belly button), no drawstring in the front, the calf part is also straight will not be too tight. The polished ones make sense with work clothes, the fabric is comfortable to wear, and it’s no problem to wear them straight from work to workout. inseam 25″ less than short leg friendly. I belong to the upper body 110 lbs lower body 120 lbs wear S just right.

COS Dropped Crotch Trouser | $38

Summer commuting most often worn pants old plucked a pair of almost new used, brand new is there is a reason for it, burgundy with too much difficulty. It is also very suitable for pear-shaped figure of the commuter pants, if you live in the United States similar size friends want to try can be sent to you ~!

Club Monaco Enamel Ring Pants*| $11 (w/ store credit)

I found these at buffalo exchange near nyu, they are also pear shaped friendly work pants. inseam 28 inch I wear just the right amount of full length without having to cut, the fabric is also 48% wool so early winter commuting is no problem.

Marni Wool Trousers* | $99

Always a good find at dumbo 2nd street. these brown suit pants add a lot of matching possibilities to my otherwise black and white pants, which are very comfortable to wear with a shorts liner inside.

Accessories wise I bought two favorite hats this year. I got them from 2nd street last year.Hereu小包*About 365 days back 300 days, accidentally and each season’s clothes are suitable. The bag is just enough to put down the essentials on the commute (cell phone, wallet, work card, sunglasses), when you take meals, you carry a lunch bag, the existing bag is very satisfied with the use of the bag, so this year there is no special want to buy a bag at the moment.

IDEA “I Don’t Work Here” Cap | $56

Because wear New York Yankees baseball cap by New York uncle pick up after the urgent need for a new hat. I was seeded by Kong Liu, and a polite sorry was sewn on the back of the hat, which I wore ceremoniously to work on Fridays in the summer. Once by an aunt in the MUJI store as a clerk to ask where things, and once in Casa Magazines by the clerk Xiao Xiao smiled and asked do you work here?

CA4LA Newsboy Cap (TAM02637) | $83

I wanted to try a Japanese brand for many years, and I tried several of them when I had a counter at Pine Smoke Sincere! I ended up buying a newsboy hat (although my family commented that it looked like a Japanese communist boy?), and the material is suitable for spring, summer, and fall. I’ve been coveting a newsboy hat for a long time, but all the North American brands are too small for me, so this one is perfect. When I got home, I found out that the inner lining can be flipped open to adjust the circumference of the head, and I wear it 2 or 3 times a week for commuting. I wear the CA4LA 2 or 3 times a week on my commute. the design of the CA4LA is indeed very suitable for Asians, and I love to wear hats, so I should buy something more suitable for summer and fall when I have a chance.

Moncler Square Sunglasses | $118

The family’s sunglasses were borrowed and worn a few times and felt light and unburdened so I bought a pair of the same.

I bought three pairs of shoes this year, two of which were replacements for old ones.

Vagabond Sheila Chelsea Boot*(Size US 7) | $80

Replaced the last pair of rag&bone Chelsea boots, after commuting and realizing that slightly pointy boots are tiring to walk in for too long. After trying on this pair in the store, I was very satisfied and bought them when they were on sale. Usually wear 6.5 bought size 7 for winter with thick socks.

Beckett Simonon Morgan Trainer*(Size US 6.5) | $110

In lieu of last year’s purchasespalwart smash德训鞋*, almost a commuter shoe that can be worn 4 days a week so they are consumed quickly. The shoes are very versatile, and the white, brown and gray color of the shoes themselves will not look out of place with all of my undergarments. At first, I saw the comparison between this brand and common projects on some men’s fashion youtuber’s channel and was impressed, so I took advantage of the two pairs of $219 discount to buy a pair for my family and myself. Because they were made to order, I waited about two months after placing my order in mid-July and received them in mid-September. With full-grain leather inside and out at this price point, the workmanship and quality is still worth the wait. The only drawback physical color is lighter than on the website, the suede part will even have some bluish color (you can actually see it in the detail picture on the website), wear dirty a little bit instead of the grey scale that I prefer.

Manolo Blahnik Hangisi Pearl Lace Pump | $163

Thanks to the blessing of high school classmates can shop early sample sale, I that is not “Sex and the City” blue wedding shoes bring obsession, but also do not have to wear shiny heels daily needs, last year on the choice of phobia attack empty-handed return. I didn’t expect to see this pair of pearl models as soon as I walked in the door this year, very much like the pair that Kong Hyo-jin got married in, and it just happened to be my size, so I brought it home. In New York, a friend who used to sleep in the bunk bought his first (and probably only) pair of Manolo Blahniks, which added a sentimental value to the shoes.

Hoo …… this year in advance of the closet review “reported names” written, at this time in the mind to set a small goal for next year, I do not know whether it can be achieved on the temporary leave aside ^_^
