Almost forgot I had such a blog.
The day before yesterday, I was suddenly dismissed by my company, with compensation of only half a month’s salary, and asked to leave as soon as possible. The company did not give me 30 days’ notice and asked me to sign a separation order on the spot.
I have been in the company for eleven months, during this period of time the company has changed a few batches of people, it is not easy to get used to it, and then another batch of people. Two months ago there was a new leader, and in the past two weeks there was a new personnel manager, not much communication, I did not expect to lay off to their heads today.
Some time ago the new leader had approached me to talk about laying off one person in our group. I said it was not recommended, if we only have two people left in the group, then we only have to cope with the work every day, there is no room to optimize the efficiency and quality, which is not conducive to the growth of the group. The leader said okay, then you have to lead the people under the group. Maybe from here on out, it’s already starting to diverge from the leader’s wishes.
The second thing is the “monitor” thing. We do pictures, the color accuracy of the monitor requirements is a very normal thing, our monitor has a color difference, is the kind of hundreds of dollars of 1080p cheap, I put forward a request, to the three of us each for a 4k, color accurate, but the leadership ultimately means to be able to use on the line. I brought it up a couple times at the weekly meeting, but didn’t get a single response.
On Thursday of this week, the HR manager called me out of the blue to talk, and at first it didn’t feel right from her words. I didn’t realize that it was indeed an unpleasant matter. I asked what the reason was and she said my work ethic was not working. The decision had been made and she just wanted me to leave as soon as possible. I was even asked to sign a letter of separation on the spot, telling me to complete the separation formalities on the same day, without mentioning anything about compensation.
Then I talked to the leader, the leader said only half a month’s salary, but also said that we should get together and part ways, perhaps in the future, when the company grows up, we may still have the opportunity to work together. I said I have to go back to think about it, things are too sudden.
After a night of understanding, it was determined that such behavior of the company, not informed 30 days in advance, and asked to leave as soon as possible, you can ask for compensation N + 1.
The next day, I talked to the leader, who said it was impossible to give N+1, I will give you one month’s compensation and decide now. I said I would go back and reconsider. The leader said don’t make it so hard, don’t talk about the letter of the law, be a little humane. I said I was just getting the result I deserved. The leader said if you don’t decide today, then tomorrow I’m going to unlock your door and not let you into the company, so feel free to go to arbitration. There was a wave of disgust that came over me when I heard this.
I have been working for this company for eleven months and I am not saying that my performance has been outstanding, but it has not cost the company anything either. Every month’s performance has been passing. The operation also recognized my work results. Now, I was suddenly dismissed by the company without any reason on the grounds of “not in line with the company’s current development needs”, and instead, I was asked to do a favor, and then I was given compensation of half a month’s salary, and I was asked to sign to leave the company on the same day. This really makes people feel that their basic dignity is being trampled on.
In the end, I compromised and didn’t continue to fight for N+1 and only took one month’s compensation. If the company does not give me into the company, then I can follow the army in, and recorded video as evidence, in the contract period does not give employees to work that can only be the company’s problem. Did not give 30 days notice, and asked to leave as soon as possible, if the refusal to compensate N +1, the company is illegal to terminate the labor contract, but also can be arbitration compensation 2N.
Everything was so sudden and plans and expectations for the department fell through. It’s the end of the year and jobs can be a little hard to find. Luckily, I have her to keep me company when I’m down. I am thankful for her support, encouragement and companionship, as well as the enthusiastic support of my group mates who gave me ideas and encouragement.
Tidy up a little and get back on the road.
