IT House May 23 news, according to ETNews, Apple The iPhone 14 will feature a more expensive “high-end” front-facing camera with autofocus, and for the first time use LG Innotek’s front-facing camera part.

Rather than opting for orders from Chinese suppliers, Apple reportedly opted for South Korean firm LG Innotek to supply the iPhone 14’s front-facing camera along with Japan’s Sharp. It was previously reported that Apple plans to switch the front camera of the iPhone 15 to LG, but this has been brought forward this year.

The change is largely down to Apple’s reclassification of the front-facing camera as a “high-end” component, with reports that the new front-facing camera will cost nearly three times as much as previous iPhone models.

IT House has learned that the report is the same as the previous revelation by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, saying that the front-facing camera of the iPhone 14 will support autofocus for the first time. Ming-Chi Kuo said that all four iPhone 14 series models, including iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, will feature an upgraded front-facing camera with autofocus and a larger F/1.9 aperture.

In contrast, the front cameras of all iPhone 13 series models use a fixed focal length and a smaller F/2.2 aperture.
