“Condom Tycoon” , written a few days ago, was evaluated as a “dystopian novel”. It dawned on me that this is called a dystopian novel. Basically, I seldom set a “programme of action” for what I want to write or a novel I conceived. Usually, I only get halfway through the writing, and then I will make up my mind: I will write something “sarcastic” next. The bridge is ready.
One of the few who planned to set the writing direction from the very beginning, such as “Secret Dreamland”, originally planned to write a sci-fi satire, but halfway through writing, I found that I would inevitably encounter some kind of logical person who made me entangled in sci-fi’s inner self-justification. So I simply wrote a dystopia + irony novel. So, there is no way to frame this kind of thing, especially for people like me who are interested, setting a frame from the beginning has turned into a constraint.
I don’t know since when, “Ship of Theseus” has become a party of literary and artistic pretense. Long before this kind of pretense game, I was fortunate to “pretend”. More than ten years ago, a few friends I met on the blog started a game similar to the “Ship of Theseus” to pass the story. Different from the current “Ship of Theseus”, the form is greater than the content. At that time, the game we played was based on the theme of “Brave New World” as the initial setting, and then several people took turns to write. There are no restrictions on content, subject matter, style, etc., but only from the point of “Brave New World”. There isn’t even a time limit between us, it’s just posted by the person in the shift and passed on to the next person. Sometimes, several chapters of the plot can be advanced in a week, and other times, they are stuck in the “key plot” for several months. The game is over because the blog bus turned into a fucking hell bus, so a few people forgot about it.
When the story begins, we don’t have any discussions, starting with the first story and continuing. It’s as if an actor suddenly broke into a stage that requires him to adapt accordingly. This kind of intrusive performance is somewhat exciting. The first person wrote Brave New World from a dystopian perspective, the second person “destroyed” the world and continued in a utopian style, and the third person destroyed the pre-order world rules and continued in a dystopian way on.
I remember the story at that time, in which four people each explained what kind of person they were in the brave new world, and how each person in this world was connected by himself. The next step is to make these four lines that work individually intertwined. They have met and communicated in the novel, but their worlds seem to be the counterpart of “Utopia” and “Dystopia”. How to make their worlds overlap and integrate will have an interesting plot. They quarrel, fall in love, and betray each other. , hatred… The seemingly irreconcilable worlds began to slowly cross.
Now it’s my turn, start a new line, I have destroyed all the settings in the preamble – two people living in a utopian world, two subconscious living in a dystopian world, they are driven by a more The “good people” created by the ironic and crazy utopian world are not to discover the various errors and contradictions that exist in this brave new world. When I finished this chapter, other people wanted to kill me while they were hooked, because the plot was moving towards the possibility of consensus, but we all know that if this consensus reaches the final “end” , then the story is over, without contradictions and subversion, there will be no more absurd and interesting plot extensions.
Another interesting setting is that there is a “gentleman’s agreement” between us, that is, it is not allowed to kill the characters created by other people in the plot, and the characters of others cannot be terminated in the story. So I did the opposite – I killed myself in the plot, I quibble that it was an “abort”, I’m dead, but there’s always a way to go and leave the question behind to the next person.
It’s a pity that the story is stuck with one main character being arrested and the other falling in love with someone he shouldn’t love. Later, no one wrote it anymore. One is that we are no longer idle people, and the other is that Internet censorship is getting more and more serious. The story itself is based on extremely absurd realism. There is also an interesting political teacher who participated in the writing. He even has a lot of thinking from the perspective of social operation. Now it seems like some kind of prophecy, predicting the “next chapter” of the real world.
Looking back now, what ‘s interesting is not the setting of “Brave New World”, but the increase and decrease of people participating in the game. The change of personnel is not because of the progress of the plot, but the thoughts of everyone in the real world.
Some people’s purpose is to write, they enjoy being involved, and they can let others advance their role, and when it’s his turn, it’s a big challenge for them; some people’s purpose is to prove that they want to Trying to prove that their creations are beyond the reach of others, so they try their best to lead the development of the plot, so they are very afraid of being denied and subverted, and they are often the ones who can’t stay; some people’s purpose is to be recognized, and they are in the plot. I don’t dare to expand too much, I can only develop around the original plot, hoping to be integrated into this small writing organization, but soon he will deny his writing, because he wants to please others too much, so he gave up his own Personality; the purpose of some people is to form a group, they are more afraid of being denied than those who want to be recognized, so they start to form a group, start to unite, start to tie together to laugh at others to prove their ability, often this group of people will eventually break away Get out there, form their own inner circle, start a new story… Whatever the purpose, they’ll be in there soon enough.
How beauteous mankind is! O brave new world, that has such people in it.
How beautiful are human beings! what! The brave new world has such people in it.
