NXP and TSMC to build 5nm automotive processor, Hon Hai electric car Model C will be equipped

Pinwan, May 25th, according to the Economic Daily, NXP announced yesterday that it will use TSMC’s 5nm process to create a new generation of S32 series automotive processors.

NXP also pointed out that its S32G processor will be installed in the Model C electric vehicle of Honghua Advanced Technology, a joint venture between Hon Hai and Yulon.

In the Computex Taipei online forum, NXP President and CEO Xi Fu said that the 16-nanometer fin field effect transistor (FinFET) radar and vehicle network processor jointly developed by NXP and TSMC have been introduced into mass production.

Taiwanese media pointed out that the Model C is an electric model launched by Honghua Advanced. It adopts a 0.27 low wind resistance design. The performance version has a zero-to-hundred acceleration time of 3.8 seconds and a battery life of 700 kilometers.
