Earlier this year, Microsoft added “Smart App Control” to Windows 11, which is based on artificial intelligence technology and able to block potentially malicious untrusted and unsigned apps.
But recently, this feature, like Microsoft’s antivirus software Defender, has done a “righteous killing of relatives” operation.
Recently, some users reported on social media that this function intercepted the harmless boot DLL file in the Windows SDK, which is Microsoft’s own program file, but it was still intercepted because it was not signed.
At present, Microsoft has not yet responded to the feedback.
Interestingly, for Win11 users, it may be no surprise to face such an oolong.
Defender has overturned several times before, with “victims” covering both first- and third-party apps.
The software once blocked Office’s upgrade program as malware, and caused problems with video playback after a system upgrade.
Not long ago, Defender accidentally injure Chrome browser, blocking its update program.
