Apple unveils MacBook Air with M2 chip

Pinwan, June 7th, today Apple held the WWDC22 Global Developers Conference and launched a new generation of self-developed chips M2. The M2 chip adopts the second-generation 5nm technology and integrates 20 billion transistors, which is 25% more than the M1.

The appearance of the MacBook Air is somewhat similar to the MacBook Pro released in the second half of last year, with rounded corners and a notch screen. The MacBook Air comes in four colorways: Silver, Space Gray, Midnight, Starry, and Magsafe is back.

The MacBook Air is 20% smaller than the previous generation and weighs only 2.7 pounds and about 1.2 kilograms. The screen uses a 13.6-inch screen and a front-facing 1080P resolution camera. Sound supports spatial audio.

In terms of battery life, the MacBook Air supports 18 hours of battery life, and this time the charging head has two USB-C ports that can charge two products at the same time. The MacBook Air also supports 67W fast charging, which officials say can be charged to 50% in 30 minutes.

The MacBook Air costs $1,199 and goes on sale next month.
