Getting an effective vaccine remains the safest way to prevent hospitalization for COVID-19. In the United States, some people refuse to be vaccinated for political reasons. The phenomenon of refusing or being able to be vaccinated but delaying vaccination is known as “vaccine hesitancy”. According to an international survey, the acceptance of the new crown vaccine in the United States has increased significantly, and its vaccine hesitation rate is at the average level among Western countries. The survey shows that the global average vaccine hesitancy rate is around 20%, and less than 20% of people in the United States say they have not received the first dose of vaccine. Vaccine hesitation in Spain is as low as 10%, over 20% in Sweden and Germany, and as high as 36% in Poland, the highest among European democracies. It may be influenced by Russia, whose vaccine hesitation is close to 40%. The vaccine hesitation rate in France is less than 20%, but the booster injection hesitation rate exceeds 25%, and the booster injection hesitation rate in Germany is 11%. Both East Asian and South Asian countries have very high acceptance of vaccines. The vaccine hesitation rate in South Korea is 11%, while that in India is less than 2%.
