In September, Japan’s domestic machine tool orders rose 1.2% from August to 52.42 billion yen, a figure that fell 8.9% from a year earlier, the first year-on-year decline in 19 months. In terms of major industries, orders in the industrial machinery industry increased by 2.8%, motor vehicles fell by 10.8%, electrical and precision machinery fell by 10.9%, and aviation, marine and transportation equipment increased by 24.1%.

In September, Japan’s foreign machine tool orders increased by 12.4% compared with August, reaching 98.43 billion yen, a figure that increased by 13.1% compared with the same period last year, the 23rd consecutive increase. From a regional perspective, orders from the Asian market increased by 8.6% month-on-month to 47.5 billion yen, a year-on-year increase of 25.3%; orders from Europe increased by 19.9% ​​month-on-month to 18.96 billion yen, an increase of 6.5% year-on-year; from North America The orders of the company increased by 18.4% month-on-month to 30.14 billion yen, an increase of 11.6% year-on-year.
