Apple kills macOS Server

Apple announced the retirement of macOS Server , and existing customers can continue to download and use macOS Server. Apple says macOS Server’s most popular features like Caching Server, File Sharing Server, and Time Machine Server are bundled with macOS High Sierra and later, and are free for customers to use. macOS Server is a server operations tool, an application that runs on top of macOS, and includes additional features for the server, application and system administration tools for managing and deploying the server. The early macOS Server was a stand-alone operating system, but since Lion, it has only existed as a toolkit. Previously the server version was priced at $499, but the app was only $50.
