Apple remotely manages jobs at Chinese assembly plants

Apple used to book an average of 50 business-class seats per day between San Francisco and Shanghai Pudong airports. But after the outbreak of the new crown epidemic in early 2020, Apple stopped sending a large number of engineers. The launch of new iPhone models that year was a month or two later than usual. In response to this situation, Apple has adopted technology to remotely manage the manufacturing process. In 2020, Apple’s U.S. engineering team instructed Chinese colleagues in Asian factories to assemble iPhone prototypes via video calls. Engineers in China initially acted on the orders of American engineers, but gradually, engineers in China were given more power to solve problems on their own .
