Apple starts assembling iPhone 14 in India

Apple announced on Monday that it started assembling the iPhone 14 in India . Apple said its foundry Foxconn began assembling its latest flagship phones at Sriperumbudur, a factory in Chennai. Apple has been assembling iPhones in India since 2017, but usually older models. The iPhone 14 is the latest model just released, and the time between assembling the latest models in India is getting shorter and shorter. iPhones assembled in India are mainly sold locally, but are also exported to other markets around the world. According to an analyst report, Apple plans to shift 5% of iPhone production from China to India by the end of this year, and that India will account for a quarter by 2025.
