Automobile and parts industry: Accelerate the layout of intelligent cockpit and intelligent driving core components (with report)

core point

The conflict between Russia and Ukraine has sounded the alarm for the safety of China’s auto supply chain. After the Russian-Ukrainian conflict broke out, the wiring harness leader Leoni’s branch in Ukraine was closed. The shutdown of the wiring harness factory had a direct impact on the European automotive supply chain. European factories of manufacturers such as Audi and Mercedes-Benz will also be forced to reduce production. In addition to wiring harnesses, Ukraine is a major exporter of electronic special gases such as xenon, krypton, and neon. Electronic special gases are indispensable in the production of automotive chips such as IGBT, MEMS and power management chips; if the conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues, it may make the global The supply of automotive chips is tight. China has not yet realized the complete autonomy and control of the auto supply chain, especially in the field of smart cars, it still relies on foreign investment in the sub-sectors such as chips and in-vehicle operating systems. The CAGR is 6.1%, and the degree of dependence on imports of parts and components is still relatively high. It is necessary to speed up the pace of domestic substitution in these short-board areas.

Smart cars are the development trend, and smart cockpits and smart driving are the core. With the advent of the era of intelligent and connected vehicles, intelligent cockpit and intelligent driving will become the two major areas of competition for intelligent vehicles. Domestic independent vehicle manufacturers and new forces are expected to achieve autonomy through configuration upgrades and functional evolution in these two areas. The brand develops upwards; component suppliers that deploy smart cockpits and smart driving will usher in domestic alternative opportunities.

Smart cockpit: Chips, operating systems, etc. need to be replaced independently. In the smart cockpit industry chain, domestic suppliers are relatively mature in the fields of car machines, LCD instruments, HUD, and cockpit application software, while cockpit chips and operating systems are still controlled by foreign manufacturers. The cockpit SoC chip is the core of the smart cockpit. Qualcomm occupies a leading position with computing power and first-mover advantage. The SA8155P has become the mainstream cockpit SoC for mid-to-high-end models. Huawei, Coretronics, and Syntech are active in the cockpit SoC field on behalf of chip manufacturers, and chip products will enter mass production in 2022. At present, QNX accounts for 43% of the basic operating system market share, and Linux+Android accounts for about 35%. Alibaba, Huawei, etc. are actively developing in-vehicle operating systems, developing customized operating systems based on Linux, and launching independent self-developed in-vehicle OS kernels on this basis, which is expected to break the long-term monopoly of foreign countries in the field of basic operating systems.

Intelligent driving: Lidar, high computing power intelligent driving chips and intelligent driving domain controllers need to be replaced domestically. In the perception system: Lidar foreign companies have an advantage, and domestic replacement is urgently needed. Decision-making system: High computing power intelligent driving chip and intelligent driving domain controller are the core. Mobileye, Nvidia, Qualcomm and other foreign manufacturers have launched chip products that meet the L4 level of autonomous driving, while Tesla has developed its own chips. Huawei, Horizon, Black Sesame and other self-developed intelligent driving chips with high computing power. The intelligent driving domain controller is the intelligent computing center of automobiles. Desay SV, Neusoft Group, Jingwei Hengrun, Huawei, Baidu, Hongjing Zhijia, and Chuangshi Zhijia have deployed in the field of intelligent driving domain controllers. Turn-by-wire: Foreign-funded manufacturers have deployed early, and key chips mainly rely on imports; by-wire: Domestic companies have already deployed, and have been mass-produced by car companies.
