Titanium Media App reported on May 16 that the official WeChat account of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology announced that the second working group of the Fourth Study Group on Radiocommunication of the International Telecommunication Union will hold its 51st plenary meeting from May 9 to 12, 2022. At this meeting, the main part of the IMT-2020 Satellite Radio Interface International Standard Report, which was led by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology and jointly established with CITIC Mobile, China Satcom , Huawei, ZTE and other units, has been completed, which marks the completion of the 5G satellite radio interface. Significant breakthroughs have been made in international standardization work. The study is expected to be completed and submitted to the SG4 plenary for review in 2022. At the same time, ITU will issue a Circular Letter to start soliciting candidate technologies for IMT-2020 satellites. The ITU plans to conduct an evaluation of the received candidate technologies in 2024 and to complete a standard proposal for a 5G satellite radio interface in 2025.
